Recently, the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism issued an announcement on holding a hearing on the "Kunming Shizhai Mountain Ruins Protection Regulations (Draft for Comments)", and plans to hold a hearing on the "Kunming Shizhai Mountain Ruins Protection Regulations (Draft for Comments)" on June 12, and from May 7 to June 7, the public will solicit opinions and suggestions on the protection regulations, and the opinions can be fed back to the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism by telephone, e-mail, fax, letter, etc.
At present, there are 29 articles in the "Regulations on the Protection of Shizhai Mountain Ruins in Kunming City" open to the public for public comment, and the regulations have made detailed provisions on the protection of Shizhai Mountain Ruins from the regional scope of Shizhai Mountain Ruins, protection objects, protection guidelines, supervision and guidance, financial investment guarantee and incentive reward and subsidy mechanism, responsibilities of management agencies, construction of archaeological site parks and site museums, prohibited behaviors within the scope of protection, and punishment measures for violating regulations, etc., which are of great significance to the protection of Shizhai Mountain Ruins.
The hearing will invite 8 to 13 people who live in Kunming and are at least 18 years old, engaged in or concerned about the protection of cultural relics, and 8 to 12 people who are deputies to the Municipal People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, professional and technical personnel, legal workers or experts. From now until May 16, citizens who are interested in participating in the hearing can log on to the website of the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism to download the "Kunming Shizhai Mountain Great Ruins Protection Regulations (Draft for Comments)" to understand the situation, and fill in the "Hearing Registration Form" to apply to become a hearing representative.
From May 7th to June 7th, the "Regulations on the Protection of Shizhai Mountain Ruins in Kunming City (Draft for Comments)" was also open to the public for comments.

Shizhai Mountain Ruins: An important window to understand the history and culture around Dianchi Lake
Located in Jinning District, Kunming City, the Shizhai Mountain Ruins are centered on the Shizhai Mountain Ancient Tombs and Hebosu Ruins, which are national key cultural relics protection units, including the Jinsha Mountain Ancient Tombs, Liangwang Mountain, Zuowei Mountain and other Shizhai Mountain cultural relics and natural landscapes. In 1956, a large number of bronzes and the "seal of the king of Dian" unearthed from the ancient tombs of Shizhai Mountain confirmed the existence of the ancient Dian Kingdom.
In recent years, 700 meters away from the ancient tombs of Shizhai Mountain, the site of Hebosuo has unearthed a large number of Han Dynasty slips, mud seals, large-scale building foundations and rich artifacts, especially the excavation of the "Dian State Seal", indicating that the Han Dynasty set up Yizhou County and gave the "Seal of the Dian King" at the same time, and also established the Yunnan Dynasty, and the central government of the Han Dynasty has exercised the governing power over Yunnan, adding important evidence to the formation and development of a unified multi-ethnic state on the mainland, and was selected as the "New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2022" selected by the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
At present, the construction of Shizhai Mountain National Archaeological Site Park is being actively promoted, and after completion, it will become an important window for citizens and tourists to understand the history and culture around Dianchi Lake.
