In 2016, Girard-Perregaux celebrated its 225th anniversary with the launch of the Laureato Anniversary Limited Edition. Since 2002, Wempe, a Hamburg-based luxury watch and jewelry retailer, has been working with renowned brands to create limited editions of the Signature Collection. Now, the two companies have joined forces to launch the Signature Collection Limited Edition (Ref. GP000084).
The new watch has a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 12.01 mm. Crafted from 904L stainless steel with alternating brushed and polished finishes, the case features a sapphire crystal, the iconic octagonal bezel and a closed caseback, making it water-resistant to 100 meters.
The gleaming copper-toned dial is adorned with a clou de Paris motif and a silver subdial with a concentric circle pattern. The central chronograph seconds hand and the hands in the subdials are gold-plated to match the colour scheme of the main dial, providing contrast and legibility. At 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, there are small seconds, 12-hour and 30-minute counters. The hour and minute hands and appliquéd indexes are coated with a luminescent material to ensure excellent legibility even in dark environments. There is also a date window at 4:30 a.m.
The closed caseback is engraved with the words "Wempe Signature Collection" and "One of 100" and houses the GP03300-2361 automatic chronograph movement. Manufactured in-house by Girard-Perregaux, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 46 hours.
The Girard-Perregaux x Wempe 42mm Chronograph Signature Collection Edition comes with an integrated 904L stainless steel bracelet and is available in a limited edition of 100 pieces in Girard-Perregaux boutiques and online stores with a price tag of 19,400 euros, equivalent to approximately 150,000 yuan.
