Sarah Bartman's story takes place in this context. Because of her unique physical features, she was misunderstood and presented as an outlier by Europeans, which not only reflected the distorted pursuit of "exoticism" in society at that time, but also exposed the gross violation of human rights.
On a cold morning in 1810, Sara Bartman of the Khoisan tribe in South Africa was called aside by two foreign men. The two men, one was Dunlop, an English doctor, and the other was Henrik, a friend of a Dutch farmer. Their eyes gleam with greed at the first sight of Sarah.
