A few days ago, the 2024 Beijing urban road spring disease centralized treatment project has entered the final stage, and it is planned to be completed in the middle of this month. The project will repair the cracks and subsidence of the road surface caused by the severe cold weather last winter, and at the same time, the slow traffic system and facilities around public transportation stations will be repaired according to local conditions on different roads such as ring roads and trunk roads, so as to restore the high-level service function of urban roads.

At 12:30 a.m., from south to north at the intersection of Anli Road and Kehui Road, with the completion of traffic guidance, the milling machine quickly entered the site to mill the surface layer of the outermost lane. After the new asphalt concrete was laid, the subsidence, ruts, and other diseases on Anritsu Road were completely repaired and restored to optimal use.

Urban road maintenance has obvious seasonal characteristics, which can generally be divided into four stages: spring thaw, pre-flood, post-flood and pre-winter. Last winter, Beijing's severe cold weather caused cracks and subsidence of trails on some roads. Taking advantage of the favorable time for the warming of the climate in the spring, these diseases will be repaired.
According to Jinjin, an engineer of the Beijing Urban Road Maintenance and Management Center, the focus is on the treatment of loose and congested diseases to ensure the safety of citizens. Since the end of March, the governance has involved a total of 170 roads in the city such as Jianguomen Inner Street and Andingmen Outer Street, 359 bridges such as Garden Bridge and Fangzhuang Bridge, and it is expected to repair the area of asphalt pavement of 100,000 square meters and 40,000 square meters of pedestrian trails, which are planned to be completed in mid-May, and 95% have been completed so far.

This year's spring road disease centralized control project is based on local conditions, one policy along the way, and targeted engineering measures are taken according to the main traffic needs within different road areas.
Huang Jin, an engineer of the urban maintenance center, said that in view of the fact that the commuting bus involves the West Second Ring Road, the North Third Ring Road and other municipal roads, the focus is on the treatment of asphalt pavement slow sinking, rutting and other problems. For children's hospitals, PLA General Hospital and other large hospitals around the West Fourth Ring Road, Fuxing Road, Chang'an Avenue and other roads, to deal with problems such as subsidence and loosening of trails. In view of the strong demand for public transportation such as the Old Summer Palace and Xisanqi, the bus stations and subway entrances along the road are treated, mainly to solve the problems of insufficient trail width and non-standard barrier-free facilities.
In the next step, the road maintenance department will take Jinbao Street, West Third Ring Road, Art Museum Back Street and other roads as joint treatment sections to carry out pedestrian trail renovation, retaining wall blanking, inspection well depression and other treatment work, so as to avoid small road problems affecting the travel experience of citizens.
