The "Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment of the Communist Party of China" stipulate that if you voluntarily confess the issues that you should be subject to Party disciplinary sanctions, you may be given a lighter or commuted punishment. The so-called voluntary confession here mainly includes two situations:
First, party members suspected of violating discipline should explain their problems to the relevant organizations before organizing talks, letters, inquiries, and preliminary verifications. Before organizing interviews, letters, inquiries, and preliminary verification, they should explain their own problems to the relevant organizations, including taking the initiative to explain the problems that the organization has already mastered, and also explaining the problems that the organization has not yet grasped.
The second is to explain the problems that the organization has not grasped during the period of interviews and inquiries, preliminary verification, and case filing and review. The "problem" here mainly refers to the discipline violation problems that exist for Party members who violate discipline themselves, and where they confess the discipline violations of others, it may be determined whether they constitute meritorious service in accordance with relevant provisions, but it does not belong to actively confessing their own problems. Party members suspected of violating discipline in the course of organizing interviews and inquiries, preliminary verification, and case filing and review truthfully explain the facts of their own violations of discipline and law that the organization has already known, similar to the confession provided for in the Criminal Law; Only those who truthfully confess the facts of their own violations of discipline and law that the organization does not grasp are considered to be voluntary confessions.
