Recently, a woman in Xinyang, Henan Province, went out for supper and found that the liquefied gas tank on the stall was "on fire". Seeing such a dangerous act, the woman opened her mouth to warn the stall owner, but the stall owner replied that it was all right. Netizens speculated that the stall owner may want to use up the gas in the tank through heating to exert its last "surplus value".

On February 3, 2024, a residential home in Enshi, Hubei Province, was monitored and recorded a thrilling scene of a man dumping liquefied gas wastewater from a gas tank in his yard. The next second, the flames suddenly burst out, and then the ground was ignited, and the flames swept over the parked car. Fortunately, the water on the ground did not cause the car to burn, and the fire did not cause casualties or property damage.
On June 29, 2022, a fire broke out at a ramen shop along the street in Ezhou City, Hubei Province, causing varying degrees of damage to many surrounding shops. It is understood that before the incident, the owner caused a gas leak due to improper operation when replacing the gas tank, and then ignited the fire with a lighter.

Liquefied gas tank safety inspection
Check the "pipe": the old air pipe must be replaced, and a long-life hose such as stainless steel bellows must be used.
Second, check the "buckle": the connection between the gas pipe and the cylinder must use a metal threaded buckle, and the field test must be conducted to see if the connection is tight.
Three check "valves": the pressure regulator must be non-debuggable and have the function of overflow shut-off, and shall not be replaced with medium pressure and pressure regulating valves without permission.
Four check the "bottle": the cylinder must have a QR code and within the validity period, if there is no QR code, it is "black gas".
Five check "distance": the distance between the cylinder and the stove must be between 0.5 meters ~ 1.5 meters, not less than 0.5 meters.
What to do if a liquefied petroleum gas cylinder catches fire?
1. When the valve of the gas cylinder is intact, the valve can be covered with a wet towel and closed;
2. If the valve of the gas cylinder has been damaged, or in the case of unpredictable and uncontrollable disposal, it should be quickly evacuated to an outdoor safe area and call the 119 police for help;
3. Do not let the LPG cylinder fall to the ground and burn.
