Wang Moubin, 21, from Jiangxi, took a train to Xi'an on April 30 to travel to the Qinling Mountains at night and lost contact on May 1. Through browsing records and outdoor group searches, it all pointed to the top of the ice crystal.
On the morning of May 10, members of the Xi'an Min'an Emergency Rescue Team who participated in the rescue told reporters that Wang Moubin's body was found at 10 o'clock on May 9.
The team members said that they were found a few kilometers away from the top of the ice crystals, and it was presumed that they slipped in the rain and died of hypothermia.
It is reported that the ice crystal top is the highest point of the Qinling Vermilion Bird Taiping National Forest Park, with an altitude of 3,015 meters. Because the mountains in the park are part of the fold belt of the North Qinling Mountains, the tectonic changes are frequent and the rock metamorphism is strong, forming a large sea of rocks and many strange peaks. All the way to the top, you can see many landscapes such as primeval forests, ancient cedars, glacial relics, and wonders of the sea of clouds along the way.
The average temperature of the ice crystal summit is much lower than that of the city due to its high altitude and low temperature, coupled with its distance from the settlements, the mountain wind is cold and steep, and there are few human activities, and the snow on the top of the mountain does not melt from mid to late November to early April every year, and the snow on the shady slope can be preserved until mid to late April.
The reporter searched and found that in 2023, the local government issued a notice to strengthen the closure and control of key areas in the Qinling Mountains, which mentioned that the law enforcement supervision and closure control of the ice crystal top core protection area and "Internet celebrity check-in places" such as Guifeng Mountain and Jiangjun Mountain will be strengthened.
In October 2023, in order to effectively strengthen the ecological and environmental protection of the Qinling Mountains Core Conservation Area such as Ice Crystal Peaks, reduce the negative impact of human activities on the ecological environment of the core reserves, and effectively avoid casualties such as missing personnel and hypothermia caused by illegal crossing, the Hubei District of Xi'an City issued the "Notice on Complying with the Regulations on the Management of Crossing Mountaineering Activities in the Qinling Mountains".
Similar cases are not unique. On February 29 this year, two women went missing when they drove to the Qinling service area of the Western Han Expressway and climbed the east beam of the Qinling Mountains.
On March 5, the Emergency Management Bureau of Ningshan County, Shaanxi Province reported that at about 16 o'clock on the 4th, rescuers found two women suspected of missing people in Taoyuanliang, Taoyuangou, Hubei District. In the early morning of the 5th, it was confirmed at the scene that one of the missing people had no vital signs, and the other survivor was about to be in a state of hypothermia. When she came to her senses, she briefly inquired about the situation and began to transfer down the mountain. ”
The person in charge of the rescue team said, "The road they took after they got lost is not even accessible to the local villagers, and if they return the same way or choose another path, they may not be in distress." ”
