The Harm of Cults to Young People The tragedy they have created is a wake-up call

author:China's anti-cult

Young people are the most active and dynamic force in society. The hope of the country lies in the youth, the future of the nation lies in the youth, and it is the responsibility of the whole society to protect the physical and mental health and personal safety of young students.

The Harm of Cults to Young People The tragedy they have created is a wake-up call

Cult organizations often falsely use the name of religion and qigong to extend their claws to young people, spread false reasoning and heresies, and engage in demagogy and deception, thus becoming a major hidden danger that threatens the physical and mental health and personal safety of young students. Due to their lack of understanding of cults and their harms, some young students have repeatedly become targets of infringement by cult organizations.

Believing in the fallacies and heresies of "Falungong" has ruined the youth

One of the common characteristics of the vast majority of cults is that they require their followers to take medicine and seek medical treatment when they are sick. Li Hongzhi, the leader of "Falungong," claimed that practicing "Falungong" can "eliminate karma and get rid of illness," and that he is not allowed to take medicine or inject when he is sick, and severely reprimanded believers who have a skeptical attitude, resulting in many tragedies.

Dong Wenchun, a native of Yantai, Shandong, graduated from Sun Yat-sen University. Due to overwork and irregular life, Dong Wenchun suffered from stomach problems. A colleague told him that if he wanted to eradicate stomach problems, he had to practice "Falungong," and Dong Wenchun became obsessed with "Falungong." However, Dong Wenchun's stomach problems did not really improve because of his practice of "Falungong," but because he refused to receive medical treatment and medicine, and because he did not participate in the activities of cult organizations in black and white, his daily routine was disrupted, and on the contrary, it became even more serious. In March 2000, Dong Wenchun developed from an ordinary stomach disease to an advanced stage of stomach cancer, which spread to the liver and other parts, and unfortunately passed away.

Wu Dianhui, a native of Bunan Village, Ningyang County, Shandong Province, was a student who was eager to learn, enterprising, and excellent in character and learning; when he was a graduate student, he was repeatedly persuaded by a classmate to start practicing "Falungong." Gradually, he became obsessed with it and embarked on a path of no return. At the end of 1999, Wu Dianhui often had a cough and chest tightness, and the hospital diagnosed him with tuberculosis. Everyone advised him to receive treatment and take his medicine on time. However, Wu Dianhui did not listen to him, always saying that "Falungong" could cure his illness, but refused to cooperate with the treatment, and insisted on relying on practicing "Falungong" to cure his illness. In this way, his condition recurred and became more and more serious. On February 3, 2006, while waiting for the train at Tai'an Railway Station, Wu Dianhui's asthma became more and more serious, and his relatives sent him to the emergency center of Tai'an Central Hospital through 120. Unfortunately, after examination by doctors, Wu Dianhui had no pulse or breathing at that time, only body temperature, and later died after rescue efforts failed.

Yang Xiaoming was originally a happy, simple, and happy girl, until one day during the summer vacation of her sophomore year of high school, she came into contact with "Falungong" under the drive of curiosity and conformity. Under the bewitchment of Li Hongzhi's fallacies and heresies, Yang Xiaoming changed from strengthening his body and "being a good person" at the beginning to wholeheartedly pursuing "consummation." When her family tried hard to persuade her to stop her from practicing "Falungong," she regarded her family as a "demon who destroys Dafa" and put pressure on her family members with hunger strikes in a vain attempt to deter "evil," and even flaunted her stupid self-harm behavior as a "feat" of "saving sentient beings." When she finally woke up under the doctor's treatment, she was still insensitive, indifferent and unforgiving. Although Yang Xiaoming finally recognized the true colors of Li Hongzhi and the "Falungong" cult and completely woke up from the cult's deception, everything that was lost could no longer be recovered.

As everyone knows, "Falungong" leader Li Hongzhi himself frequently goes to the hospital when he is sick, and his relatives around him also seek medical treatment when they are sick, but he has made his followers refuse medical treatment and medicine, and I don't know how many innocent young students have delayed treatment because of this!

Believing in the fallacies and heresies of "Almighty God", "dedicating" property, and losing a bright future

The cult of "Almighty God" is very greedy, and clearly stipulates in the "Ten Administrative Rules That God's Chosen People Must Abide by" that the money and material resources of the "God's family," including all property, "no one may enjoy it except the priests and the gods, because the sacrifices offered by man are for the enjoyment of God, and God only gives the sacrifices to the priests to share, and no one else is qualified or entitled to enjoy any of them." It also gave it a high-sounding term -- "dedication" -- for its accumulation of wealth -- "dedication," and insulted believers who did not "dedicate," saying, "There is no humanity, is no different from Satan the Devil", which led to the "dedication" of many believers who went bankrupt and made family life unsustainable.

Wang Jiaxuan is a native of Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, and his parents are farmers. After he was admitted to university, he was admitted to graduate school. During a summer job, he was lured by the "end of the world" and "God's protection" to join the "Almighty God" cult. Under the threat of lies that the "end of the world" was imminent, Wang Jiaxuan lost his ability to judge. In order to successfully "cross the catastrophe", he lied to his family that he had found a job and had to pay a deposit of 100,000 yuan, so his parents sold the family's old house. Due to his participation in the illegal and criminal activities of a cult organization, Wang Jiaxuan was expelled from school. The elderly father was overwhelmed and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on the spot. The family's old house has been sold, and he and his parents can only live in the house of his married sister. The father was paralyzed in bed, and the mother was in tears. Wang Jiaxuan didn't dare to go out, he was afraid of seeing people, and locked himself in the house every day. He was diagnosed by a psychiatric hospital as suffering from "photophobic schizophrenia". After half a year of treatment, although he has basically recovered, he is left with the pain of the whole family.

The "Almighty God" cult bewitches its followers into separating themselves from their families, running away from home, and working for them. These believers have become cold-blooded, their relatives are not recognized, they have left their homeland, and they have not heard from them, leaving the elderly in their families unsupported, their children unattended, and their originally harmonious and happy families shattered.

Jiang Mei's hometown is in Surabaya Town, Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province, and her parents are ordinary farmers. In the year of the decisive battle for the college entrance examination, Jiang Mei joined the "Almighty God" cult. Through the "myth of eating and drinking" at the party, Jiang Mei believed that the so-called "end of the world" was coming, and believed that only by believing in "God" could she be "saved", so she came up with the idea of giving up the college entrance examination. Under the persuasion of her parents, Jiang Mei took the college entrance examination. In the summer of 2012, although Jiang Mei's college entrance examination score exceeded the undergraduate B admission score, she finally gave up the opportunity to go to college, ran away from home, and cut off all contact with her family. Although Jiang Mei has now woken up and reunited with her family, the pain brought to her by "Almighty God" can never be erased.

The Harm of Cults to Young People The tragedy they have created is a wake-up call

Liu Lin is a student at a university in Zhejiang. In the second year of junior high school, Liu Lin joined the "Almighty God" cult under the influence of her grandmother, and swore a poisonous oath with her grandmother. This poisonous oath has always imprisoned this young girl's heart. On the eve of the Spring Festival in 2023, Liu Lin's mother anxiously called 110 to report that her daughter was missing. The local public security organs immediately opened a case for investigation and soon found Liu Lin's whereabouts. It turned out that on the day of the school's winter vacation, Liu Lin walked out of the school gate and went to participate in the illegal activities of the "Almighty God" cult. Later, although Liu Lin was rescued and returned to the right track of life, her heart had already left the shadow of the erosion of the cult organization.

It can be seen from this that cults have committed numerous crimes against young students, and only by staying away from cults can we stay away from harm.

Here, I hope that the majority of young students will take this as a warning, break down superstitious thoughts, correctly deal with the ditches and bumps encountered in life, and enhance the courage and confidence to pursue a better life; When encountering cult propaganda content, it is necessary not to listen, not to watch, not to believe, and not to pass on it; If illegal activities of cults are discovered, they should promptly report and expose them to the public security organs. Let us work together to actively study anti-cult knowledge, constantly enhance our awareness of recognizing, guarding against, and rejecting evil cults, and contribute to a "non-evil" society.
