After investigation, in order to make illegal profits, the owner Xu purchased electric bicycle brand batteries through online stores and other channels, took advantage of the large space under the pedal of high-end electric bicycles, installed and expanded the battery compartment, and connected 1 or more new batteries in series on the basis of the original 4 original batteries in series assembly, and privately upgraded the rated 48V battery of the electric bicycle in the car shop to 60V and above batteries and sold them to the outside world.
In addition, in an electric bicycle sales store in Jinshanwei Town, the public security organs also investigated and punished the shopkeeper Xue who used the same means to illegally make profits.
It is reported that since the beginning of April, the Jinshan police have concentrated on detecting 15 cases of selling fake and shoddy products, and seized more than 120 illegally modified electric bicycles, involving an amount of more than 100 yuan.
At present, 15 criminal suspects including Xu have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the police in accordance with the law for the crime of producing and selling fake and shoddy products, and the case is being further tried.
Police tips
According to the national standard, the motor power of the electric bicycle shall not exceed 400W, and the rated voltage shall not exceed 48V. For electric vehicles that can only use 48V batteries to replace 60V or 72V over-standard batteries, the original charging and discharging lines may not meet the battery current requirements, and the high current is frequently charged and discharged, resulting in overheating of the line, accelerating the aging of the line, and increasing the fire hazard. Please remember that it is strictly forbidden to carry out illegal modifications to electric bicycles, and once you find illegal modifications, please report to the relevant departments in time.
