Trump's "civil war theory" has been in full swing lately.
The controversial US president said that if he was impeached, he would start a civil war, and at another time he claimed that he would fight for the national interest if he was not re-elected.
This remark caused an uproar in the field of public opinion, with supporters applauding and opponents scolding.
But no matter how you look at it, one thing is certain: American society is plunging into unprecedented divisions and antagonisms.
What is angry is that the president of a dignified country talks about the civil war at every turn, isn't this sowing discord and alarmism? Laughing, his little caution was seen through at a glance.
It is nothing more than trying to use extreme rhetoric to motivate his hardcore supporters and put pressure on the opposition.
But then again, Trump's theory of a civil war, while exaggerated, is not groundless.
The severity of the rift in American society has indeed reached a disturbing point.
Conservatives who support Trump and liberals who oppose him seem to live in two worlds.
Values are far from each other, even watching the news is you MSNBC and I FOX News, scolding each other through the screen.
Not to mention the conflict in reality, often marching on the streets, holding a rally if there is nothing to do, the scene is so fierce that it is comparable to the hippie movement back then!
The point is that the differences are not only reflected in the ideological level, but also in the struggle for practical interests.
On one side are the so-called "Rust Belt" blue-collar whites, victims of economic globalization, whose lives are getting worse and worse, and can only count on Trump to give them an explanation.
On the other side are the urban elites who enjoy the fruits of prosperity, resolutely defending their class interests and "political correctness", vowing to fight Trump to the end.
To put it bluntly, where is the dispute between conservatives and liberals, it is clearly a struggle between vested interests and frustrated people!
Even more worrying is the rise in violence as the confrontation between the two camps intensifies.
Right-wing militias illegally detained immigrants and army bomb experts plotted attacks.
Coupled with Trump's frequent labeling of "treason" and "espionage" for his opponents, if he really gets rid of it one day, will American society fall into the quagmire of civil war again, as it did back then? I'm afraid no one dares to pack tickets.
Some people may say, look at what you are making a fuss, what is this little contradiction in the United States? The Soviet-German confrontation during World War II and the Cuban Missile Crisis are called swords and swords! I don't deny that.
But the problem is that the predicament of the past was resolved by external forces, and now the differences can only be absorbed by the Americans themselves.
In the final analysis, the reason why the United States has come to this point is rooted in the short-sightedness and selfishness of the elite.
They only care about who holds the power and whose interests go into, but they never really think about the future of the country and the well-being of the people.
In this way, even without a fanning of the flames like Trump, a tear in American society is inevitable.
As bystanders, although we don't have to worry about the sky, we have to take this kind of internal and external troubles and crises as a warning.
