According to the data, SAIC's vehicle sales in April reached 360,000 units, of which 216,000 Chinese brand models were sold, accounting for more than 60%, showing the strong demand for SAIC's own brands in the domestic market.
In the field of new energy vehicles, SAIC Motor sold 75,000 units in April, up 9.3% year-on-year.
In the first four months of this year, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 285,000 units, a significant increase of 35.4% year-on-year.
As a premium brand of SAIC Motor, Zhiji Auto's sales in April increased by 49.3% year-on-year, and the number of orders for its Zhiji L6 model reached 21,000 units, and it is scheduled to be officially launched on May 13.
SAIC's joint venture brands also performed well in the new energy vehicle market.
SAIC Volkswagen's sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 10,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 56%; SAIC-GM delivered nearly 9,000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 93.1%; SAIC-GM-Wuling sold more than 40,000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 65.9%.
In overseas markets, SAIC Motor sold 92,000 units in April, up 2.7% y/y, and sold more than 360,000 units from January to April.
Among them, the MG brand is particularly prominent in the European market and has been confirmed as the main sponsor of the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, which will open on July 11.
