On May 9, Clarivate Analytics released its latest ESI data for May 2024. ESI (Basic Science Indicators Database) is one of the important evaluation index tools commonly used to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries or regions around the world. The data covers the period from January 2014 to February 2024.
The editor has sorted out the ranking of the top 200 universities in Chinese mainland, let's take a look at which universities have gone further?
From the perspective of international rankings, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences still ranks first among universities in Chinese mainland and currently ranks 17th in the world; Tsinghua University ranks second among domestic universities and 34th in the world. Shanghai Jiao Tong University is ranked 3rd in China, and is currently ranked 40th in the world, followed by Zhejiang University (41st in the international ranking) and Peking University (50th in the international ranking).
The top 200 universities in the international ranking also include Sun Yat-sen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Central South University, Nanjing University, Sichuan University, Wuhan University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shandong University, Tianjin University, Jilin University, South China University of Technology, and Tongji University.
Among the top 200 universities in Chinese mainland, some universities have made significant progress. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) has improved the most, with a rise of 161 places, followed by Chengdu University of Technology, North University of China and Beijing Technology and Business University, which have risen 145, 144 and 140 places respectively.
