In the early morning of May 7, after nearly 40 hours of continuous pouring operations by the builders, the first roof of the open-cut section of the Changshui Airport Station of the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway was successfully poured, which marked the official entry of the open-cut section of the station into the main structure construction stage, laying a solid foundation for the entrance of the Changshui Airport Tunnel and the early completion and opening of the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway. The total investment of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is 141.62 billion yuan, and at present, Yuntou Railway has contributed a total of 16.144 billion yuan on behalf of Yunnan Province.

The construction of Kunming Changshui Airport Station is extremely challenging, and its cut-and-cover section is located within the airport reconstruction and expansion project area, passing under the planned T2 terminal. Construction not only has to deal with a complex cross-work environment, but also needs to ensure the normal operation of the airport. The first roof plate poured this time is a key part of the connection between the airport and the station, and the advanced cut-and-cover construction method is used to ensure the safety and stability of the structure.

It is understood that the volume of all roof pouring in the open-cut section of Changshui Airport Station of Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway is about 20 million square meters of concrete, which is equivalent to filling 100 standard swimming pools. In order to ensure the quality and safety of the construction, the construction project team adopted advanced technologies such as water-cooled concrete internal cooling, multi-layer surface insulation and automatic temperature control, and all parties involved in the construction set up a quality and safety guarantee group composed of technical backbones to increase safety risk management and control, pay close attention to safety-critical processes, and ensure the orderly progress of project construction. Up to now, 64% of the total subgrade projects, 49% of the total bridge projects, and 83% of the total tunnel projects have been completed in the Kunming hub section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway.

The open-cut section of Changshui Airport Station is a key control project, and the railway, airport and other departments are actively coordinating and docking during construction, carefully organizing the construction of the existing working face, and making every effort to overcome the interference caused by the cross working face. Jointly formulate accurate construction plans, continue to optimize technical measures, and comprehensively strengthen management from multiple dimensions such as safety and quality, construction organization and emergency response.

The Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming channel of the national eight-vertical and eight-horizontal railway network, with a total length of 699 kilometers, of which the Yunnan section is 388.6 kilometers long, as the first high-speed railway in Yunnan Province with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway will connect Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and other provinces and cities, and become an important channel for the opening up of the southwest region and the "Belt and Road" to ASEAN. After the completion and opening of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, it is expected that the travel time from Chongqing to Kunming will be shortened from the original 5 hours to about 2 hours.
