On May 7, 430 students from the Primary School Affiliated to Zhuang Chinese School in Liujiang District walked into the Baipeng Lotus Garden Scenic Area in Liujiang District to carry out lotus root planting experience research activities.
Dressed in waterproof jumpsuits, under the leadership of the teacher, the students walked from the lotus root field to their respective "camps" step by step, and listened carefully to the growers' explanations about the growth environment and planting process of lotus roots. After the study, the students bent down to plant the carefully selected lotus roots into the field. Dig the ditch, put the lotus root seeds into the ditch, then gently adjust the position and angle, and finally backfill the silt, the whole process is done in one go.
After the lotus root planting experience, the students also worked with the teacher to test the pH pollution value of the soil in the lotus root field, explore the most suitable environment for the growth of lotus root, learn how to protect the soil and water quality, and avoid environmental pollution from harming the growth of lotus root.

It is understood that Baipeng Lotus Garden Scenic Area is located in Baipeng Town, Xialuntun, covering an area of about 1185 acres, the scenic spot takes lotus culture as the core, relying on the unique landscape pastoral style and double-season lotus root modern agricultural tourism, and has built a rural tourism complex integrating agricultural tourism, leisure and health, cultural experience, popular science education, student research, nostalgia homestay and other functions, mainly building a visitor center, "lotus root planting + aquaculture" comprehensive demonstration area, lotus field cultural gallery, family style and family motto exhibition hall, clean lecture hall, Poetry Lotus Cultural Experience Area, Lotus Heart Leisure Area, Student Research Base and other projects. In 2020, the scenic spot won the title of the second batch of national AAAA-level tourist attractions. "In mid to late June every year, the lotus in the scenic spot begins to enter the full blooming period, and this year Liujiang District plans to organize a special activity of '10,000 people visiting the Lotus River in the United States and the United States' during the lotus blooming period, and tourists from all over the world are welcome to come to Baipeng Town to watch the lotus."
