People with mental disabilities are a particularly vulnerable group because of their slow movements, known as cute "snails", and this Saturday will usher in "Snail Day" in 2024. On the morning of May 6th, Meinian Health joined hands with Tongmu Sunshine Supported Employment Center for the Disabled, and volunteers joined hands with autistic youths to start a warm and interesting mountain tour in Qingdao Fushan Forest Park.
In this activity, volunteers from the marketing team of Meinian Health Organization and autistic youths who were bathing in the sun walked into Fushan Park one-on-one, and everyone held hands to visit the garden in the verdant landscape, drawing a beautiful landscape.
During the visit to the park, the specially invited outward bound training teachers carried out interesting competitive games, and the volunteers and the autistic youth were integrated into groups to play team war drums, not falling down the forest, energy transmission and other games. These games were a big challenge for the autistic youth who were not very coordinated, but they still completed the games with the patient guidance and help of the outward bound teachers and volunteers, and the scene was full of laughter.
"In just one day, my colleagues and I have gained a new understanding of the autistic community, although they have congenital disabilities, they are innocent and kind, and we deeply understand the importance of caring for young people with autism. We will continue to pay attention to the special groups of autism and participate in more public welfare activities.
Yang Ping, the person in charge of Qingdao Tongmu Sunshine Assisted Employment Center for the Disabled, told reporters that the autistic young people in the center went to Fushan to walk the new trail and see the beautiful scenery under the one-on-one care of volunteers.
