In 1979, the smoke of gunfire on the Sino-Vietnamese border was ignited again. In that year, Vietnam's aggression against Cambodia intensified regional tensions, and China decided to launch a war of self-defense and counterattack against Vietnam to show that it would not tolerate Vietnam's aggression. Although the war was short-lived, fierce battles on the border line were frequent, especially the Laoshan position in Yunnan, which became the focus of contention between the two sides. In this land shrouded in gunpowder, countless Chinese soldiers showed great bravery and sacrifice, and Huang Dengping was one of them.
