On May 3rd, Suzuki unveiled the DL1050 V-Strom and DL1050 V-Strom Tour touring expedition vehicles for the UK market, as well as a racing-style modification/upgrade kit for the GSX-8S, a middleweight sports street bike for the French market.
First released in November 2019, the DL1050 V-Strom is Suzuki's current flagship adventure model. The car was powered by a water-cooled, four-stroke, V-shaped, 90-degree two-cylinder, DOHC four-valve engine with a displacement of 1,037 cc and a maximum power of 79 kw (about 107 hp, European version). In terms of body, it adopts a DR Big style exterior styling, equipped with a wide-sided double-wing frame, a fork core diameter of 43 mm KYB inverted fork fork, a newly designed LED lighting system, a digital instrument cluster, and 19-inch front and rear 17-inch wheels for the base model, and 21-inch front and 17-inch wheels for the DE version.
At present, the car is available in a DE version for the domestic market, and the official price announced by the manufacturer/agent is 156,800 yuan. In 2022, the official pricing of the basic and XT versions in China at that time was 152,800 yuan (basic type) and 164,800 yuan (XT) respectively.
The new DL1050 V-Strom and DL1050 V-Strom Tour for the UK market feature four new body and component surface colour schemes, including a new bright orange pattern. The Touring version, which was launched at the same time, was actually in the state of the original base car, and was equipped with an aluminum, full set of large three-piece rear trunks and trunk as standard. Available in black and silver-grey, the rear and tail boxes add an additional 112 litres of load capacity.
The midweight sports street bike GSX-8S is a model that was first unveiled in November 2022 and officially launched only last year, equipped with a newly developed water-cooled four-stroke inline two-cylinder, DOHC four-valve engine per cylinder, with a displacement of 776 cc, using a 270-degree crankshaft ignition position, a dual-balancer shaft shock reduction design, and a maximum power output of 61 kW at 8500 rpm. In terms of body, the GSX-8S sports street bike adopts a steel tubular frame, front and rear suspension system equipped with KYB, and a digital instrument cluster. The electronic control system includes optional riding modes, traction control system, two-way quick shift system, etc.
At the end of last year, the GSX-8S was launched in China, and the official price announced by the manufacturer/agent was 99,800 yuan.
The racing-style tuning/upgrade kit for the GSX-8S for the French market, called Team Suzuki, was designed and supplied by local European tuning brand APX Factory, with a focus on a full set of body stickers priced at €999 (including local excise tax in France, but excluding installation costs) that can be used directly on the blue and black versions of the GSX-8S in the original standard car condition.
In addition to stickers, other optional components include LED curved lights, front windshield, engine drop guards, and a fairing mounted on the bottom of the engine.
