Today, let's listen to Zhou Yuan's story – this is the 911th real person we have told.
My name is Zhou Yuan, I am from Hunan, and I am middle-aged. I manage the farm in my hometown.
When I was a child, I was always full of energy, and I liked to climb trees and dive into the water. However, during my 8-year-old play, I was beaten so badly that these fists became a shadow on my heart.
As a teenager, I developed neuropathic tinnitus, which made life difficult.
In search of relief, I embarked on a hike. After 114 days, more than 10 cities, and a distance of 2,000 kilometers, I finally found myself.
(Now, I'm in my hometown)
In 1992, I was born in Yongzhou, Hunan Province, into an ordinary peasant family, with an older sister and a younger brother.
Due to the fact that the hometown is located in a mountainous area, the economic conditions are relatively poor. In order to make a living, my parents went to Zhongshan, Guangdong Province to work, leaving our three siblings and grandparents to depend on each other.
At that time, I was lively and active, and when my parents were not around, I became a veritable "wild child".
I would climb a dozen meters high bamboo, jump like a monkey, jump into the water from a six-meter-high bridge, and even steal money from adults to buy medicine.
When I'm quiet, I'll lie on the straw and look at the stars, imagining myself as a fairy hero with magical powers.
(From the city to the countryside)
These beautiful dreams and fantasies added a lot of fun to my lonely childhood. However, one thing completely changed the course of my life.
In 2000, I was in the second grade of primary school. The school is understaffed with only two teachers. One day during my lunch break, I accidentally knocked over a classmate, and his father beat me up indiscriminately.
(Pull the suitcase and step on the Qinghai-Tibet line)
This incident made me reticent, afraid of hearing loud talking, often having nightmares at night, unable to concentrate on studying. My parents were very heartbroken to see me like this, so they helped me transfer to another school and leave that horrible place.
In 2006, I entered junior high school, and in the first semester, I found that I had a hearing problem.
(Trekking 318 to Kangding)
I was terrified, but I didn't give up. I chose to persevere, I chose to face difficulties, and I chose to look for hope.
