A mirage appeared in Dapeng Bay, and this time it was true

On July 15, the late evening reporter photographed the mirage scene in Dapeng Bay. Shenzhen Evening News reporter Li Jingchuan photographed

Shenzhen Evening News (Reporter Li Jingchuan) From 9:20 to about 10:00 on July 15, a mirage appeared on the sea surface of Dapeng Bay in Shenzhen, which was successfully recorded by the late evening reporter who was filming The Brittle whale. According to local fishermen, the sea surface of the incident is located on the north and south sides of Ping chau Island on the Hong Kong side of Dapeng Bay, of which a fish-shaped island image appears on the south side, with a white lighthouse-like building above it and a columnar image next to it; on the north side, there is a columnar image and two basically symmetrical rectangular images, which look like a huge windmill from a distance.

At about 8 o'clock on the same day, the reporter came to the sea area of Shayu Bay to photograph the Brinell whale. At that time, the weather was clear and the air transparency was high. At 9:20, a companion suddenly pointed to the southeast of the sea and loudly reminded the reporter: "There is a mirage there!" The reporter looked down at his finger, first found a black shadow above the sea surface on the south side of Pingzhou Island in front of him, zoomed in with a telephoto lens, and clearly saw that it was a fish-like image, and the reporter hurriedly took a picture.

Soon, when the reporter observed the sea surface on the north side of the island, he accidentally found that there were also obvious black shadows above the sea surface, but it could not be seen clearly by the naked eye alone. After zooming in with a telephoto lens, two rectangular images floating in the air can be observed. The reporter immediately took this image, enlarged on the computer, and saw that there was a columnar image in the middle of the two rectangular images. Due to the surge in the sea and the instability of the ship, the reporter tried several times to shoot the video with a telephoto lens, but in the end he did not succeed. After more than half an hour, the two images on the surface of the sea gradually faded and eventually disappeared.

On the afternoon of July 14, Guangdong Meteorological Weibo just posted a photo of "giant ships floating over the sea" in Shenzhen's West Chung. Subsequently, some media interviewed the photographer of the photo, confirming that it was not a "mirage", but an illusion caused by the complete fusion of the color of the sea surface and the sky as the ship sailed. However, this picture still triggered netizens' interest in the mirage. Unexpectedly, just one day later, the real mirage appeared in Dapeng Bay.

The reporter sent the pictures taken to Tian Zheng, captain of the Yantian Brigade of the Shenzhen Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment, who told the reporter that the image appearing on the photo was indeed a mirage, of which the fish-shaped image was likely to be part of Pingzhou Island, and the columnar image next to it should be a light sign on the nearby sea. The image of a windmill is likely to be of a nearby freighter refracted in mid-air. "We have also observed mirages in nearby waters during our daily law enforcement patrols, but it is not very common." Tian Zheng said.

Tian Zheng introduced that a mirage is a kind of strange scene formed by displaying distant scenes in the air or on the ground due to the refraction of light, and the name of this image science is mirage. Depending on the imaging, mirages are divided into many categories, generally divided into upper mirages and lower mirages. A mirage is popularly a mirage formed in the atmosphere above the physical position, which may be a positive image or an inverted image. On the contrary, it is a mirage, which is generally inverted. The former imaging is more stable and rare, and the latter imaging is easy to deform and stretch, which is more common in desert areas. The mirage photographed by the reporter in Dapeng Bay on the same day belongs to the mirage.
