The results of the 2nd "Meet Songshan Lake" essay contest were announced
After the preliminary evaluation and re-evaluation, on April 27, the second "Meet Songshan Lake" essay contest ushered in the final evaluation meeting, and after expert review, 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 6 third prizes, 10 excellence awards, and 15 finalists were finally selected in the adult group and the youth group.
The essay contest is guided by the Songshan Lake Management Committee, co-sponsored by the Songshan Lake Publicity, Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and the Dongguan Writers Association, and undertaken by the Songshan Lake Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Songshan Lake Branch of the Dongguan Writers Association.
With the theme of "Meet Songshan Lake", the second essay contest depicts the magnificent picture of Songshan Lake, eulogizes the natural and humanistic beauty of Songshan Lake, the ambition of innovation and struggle, and uses literature to further express a new chapter in the development of Songshan Lake "science and technology + culture" in the new era. Since the launch of the event on January 9, a total of 988 submissions have been received from all over the country, an increase of nearly 20% over the previous year. Among them, 484 papers were submitted in the adult group and 504 papers were submitted in the youth group.
In order to ensure the fairness and impartiality of the essay review, all entries will be reviewed by anonymous numbering. The judges for the preliminary and re-evaluation are well-known writers from the Dongguan Writers Association and the Songshan Lake Branch of the Dongguan Writers Association, and the final judges are all well-known domestic writers and critics.

Chen Chongzheng, vice chairman of the Guangzhou Writers Association and vice president of the Guangzhou Literature and Art Newspaper, served as one of the final judges of the essay competition, and said: "The level of works submitted to this event has been significantly improved compared with previous years. Many of the works of the adult group are written around the new science and technology city of Songshan Lake, and the writing is delicate and poured into personal sincere emotions, which is very moving. The works of the students in the youth group are full of imagination, not only have their own feelings of living in Songshan Lake, but also increase their fantasies about the future of high-tech, which is very rare. ”
The genres of works collected in this essay contest cover prose, poetry, novels, literary scripts, word endowment, non-fiction, etc., and the authors come from all over the country, including authors who have worked, studied and lived in Songshan Lake, as well as writers and literature lovers who care about and support the construction of Songshan Lake. These works revolve around real feelings, unique perspectives, delicate observations, and vivid brushstrokes to write about personal encounters, thoughts and understandings in the course of time, as well as their love and feelings for Songshan Lake.
