Four steps to teach children to do a good job of time management

author:Guangzhou's little assistant for further education

In addition to facing the entrance examination, there is also an important test for children in the further education stage - that is, to adapt to the learning of the next school period. Whether it is primary school to junior high school, or junior high school to high school, it will encounter the problem of increasing subjects and difficult knowledge.

That is, children have to learn more and more difficult knowledge in the same learning time. This puts forward higher requirements for children's time management skills.

Today's article will explain some of them in detail

Practical approach to time management

Time Management Step 1: Record your time

It's hard to come up with a perfect timeline in the first place, and the plan you come up with may not really fit. So the first step in time management is not to make a plan, but to record your own time first.

How? It is to take a notebook and record what you do every day.

In addition to learning, you should also record other things on it. Including and so on.

This phase lasts about a week. After a week, you will know your usual routine and routine, and where you are wasting your time nearby.

This allows you to figure out how many hours of really effective study time you spend each day.

The second step in time management: raise the bar and develop habits

After knowing how much time you have effectively studied every day, you must start to gradually improve your standards and cultivate the habit of learning.

How can we raise the bar? That is to gradually extend the time of your own study.

There are two things to note about this process:

First, don't prolong it too much in one breath. If the task is not completed, then this extension is meaningless.

Second, do not exceed the standard. Let's say my goal is 2.5 hours a day, and even if I'm in good shape today, I don't want to study for more than three hours. Otherwise, the next day it is easy to have a lax mentality. This is not conducive to the cultivation of habits.

Step 3 in time management: Set a code of conduct

After the above two steps, we can actually find some laws of our behavior, and at this time, we can set some relatively fixed things and become codes of conduct.

However, in real life, we always encounter all kinds of unexpected things that interrupt our plans. So we're going to make another rule as well. At the heart of this rule is what to do when we don't finish the plan.

Exception rules have two cores:

First, where is my bottom line. Today's task may fall short, but that bottom line must be met. For example, I study for six hours a day, but the bottom line is four hours, otherwise it will be difficult to make up for it later.

Second, if today's task cannot be completed, what methods can be remedied tomorrow. For example, compressing the time to play games tomorrow, taking a nap and sleeping less, etc., in this way to make up for today's losses.

In addition to the timeline and exception rules, it's also important to make a reward rule for yourself. For example, when you're accomplishing a goal for the week, reward yourself for doing something you love on the weekend, or eat a big meal or something like that.

The fourth step in time management: continuous optimization

When this is persisted for a period of time, the ability to manage time has been cultivated. However, there is still room for continued progress.

The first is to adjust the schedule. If you follow a schedule for a long time, it is easy to get bored. So some changes can be introduced appropriately. The best way to change is to do a regular summary review. For example, think about where you are doing well today, where you are not doing well, how to improve tomorrow, and so on. Or sort out the wrong questions during this time, and then conduct targeted review of weak points.

In addition, according to the situation of the review, some invalid times should be excluded. For example, we cut out the time when the input-output ratio is not high, and do something with a relatively high input-output ratio. For example, copying the wrong question is a waste of time, and it can be carried out with the help of some technical means, so that valuable time can be spent on learning more valuable new knowledge.
