This is the fourth year of his graduation from university, after two years of working outside the home, he returned to his hometown to open a farmhouse, this year's "May Day" opened, the first three days have been full.

College students return to their hometowns to open homestays and farmhouses, and it has become a new fashion in the thousand-year-old villages such as Jiaju Tibetan Village and Middle Road Tibetan Village, especially in the past one or two years, investors from other provinces have also continued to pour in, and the farmhouses in Tibetan villages have also taken on a new look.

College students return to their hometowns to open farmhouses

In the middle of the Tibetan village, Deji's family was the first to start operating homestays. Her father, Kampot, has been running a farm since 1997, but Deji wants to be a different farm from her father's generation, and she wants to pass on the Tibetan culture of Jiarong from generation to generation, and let tourists experience the original Tibetan culture of Jiarong.

In 2018, after learning that the construction of the Rural Revitalization Demonstration Zone had begun in the Tibetan Village on Zhonglu, Deji, who graduated from medical school and worked in a tertiary hospital in Chengdu, quit his job and became the first college student to return to his hometown.

Today, Deji's B&B has become a well-known "Internet celebrity" B&B, receiving tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.

Coincidentally, in Jiaju Tibetan Village, Chen Tao, who graduated from university, also returned to his hometown to open a homestay, and he is not the first college student to return from the village.

According to statistics from the Danba tourism department, in the past year or two alone, more than 30 young people have returned to their hometowns to start businesses, most of whom are returning college students. "If you can't get along outside, you won't be able to get out of the way, and you will only return to the village" has become an outdated concept in the local area.

Chen Tao said that after graduating from university, he worked in schools, tobacco companies, and logistics companies. Two years ago, he decided to return to his hometown to start his own homestay. After two years of preparation, this year's "May Day Holiday" B&B is about to open. "Now on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the rooms are almost full."

Farmhouses should also play a good cultural card

Deji, who returned to his hometown from the Tibetan village on the middle road, grasped the Tibetan culture of Jiarong, so that tourists did not change their beds to sleep, nor did they take a standard tourist photo and leave. She wants to let the outside world know that the current Tibetan countryside has undergone earth-shaking changes, not only the style, but also the thinking of the local people.

As a result, Deji's "brand-new" homestay has become a must-visit "check-in point" for tourists, and it is well-known in the entire western Sichuan.

Jiaju Tibetan Village, Chen Tao also said when talking about why he returned to his hometown to start a business, so that tourists can feel the national characteristics more intuitively, and further understand Jiaju Tibetan Village and Danba, which is the internal driving force for returning to his hometown to open a homestay.

Chen Tao said that in order to better serve tourists, he has made a lot of preparations, and set up a bonfire brazier in the courtyard of the homestay, which has been filled with firewood, waiting for tourists to stay and create a Tibetan-style bonfire party for them.

Although he has just returned to his hometown, Chen Tao has a very clear plan for the future. He said: "In the future, B&B can not only be B&B, but also allow more people to eat local natural and pollution-free food", he said, not far from the north of his B&B is the local "Beauty Crispy" apple planting base, in the future he wants to integrate a series of local agricultural products such as apples, bacon, fragrant pork legs, etc., into the operation of B&B, to create more added value for his B&B operation.

In recent years, Jiaju Tibetan Village has effectively integrated the advantages of local Jiarong culture such as intangible cultural heritage skills, red education bases, and folk cultural activities, and promoted the upgrading of the cultural tourism industry through red research, folk customs experience, traditional cultural performances and online live broadcasts.

Jiaju Tibetan Village will also integrate traditional skills into the modern tourism industry, unique Jiarong embroidery, Jiarong clothing, headbands, ancient models and other cultural and creative products are widely loved, Tibetan clothing travel photography is popular among tourists, Tibetan clothing, ancient villages, ancient towers have become the most beautiful scenery of Jiaju Tibetan Village.

Jiaju local cultural tourism and service industry are highly integrated, with more than 100 characteristic boutique homestays represented by the three sisters of Jiaju, four acres of pastoral and Baoshengju, which radiate and drive a large number of farmers to participate in the tourism service industry. Huang Jianhua, secretary of the party branch of Kaka Village, Jiaju Town, said: "We have collected data during the 'May Day' period, from May 1 to 10, 250 homestay beds in Kaka Village are full", he said, now 50% of the villagers are engaged in tourism development, and the annual income of each household can reach two or three hundred thousand, and the development of tourism has made the people's wallets bulge.

Tourists from outside stay to open a homestay

Speaking of homestays, Jiaju Tibetan Village is not exclusive to locals, Huang Jianhua, secretary of the party branch of Kaka Village, Jiaju Town, said that at present, 15 outdoor people have come here to invest in homestays, "This is the result of our village's investment promotion." ”

Chen Wenchao, a native of Dalian, Liaoning Province, has been opening a homestay in Jiaju Tibetan Village for two years, and two other branches are about to open. But the first time he came here, it was as a tourist.

During a relaxing trip in 2021, Chen Wenchao liked the "comfort" of Jiaju Tibetan Village, and suddenly had the idea of staying and opening a homestay. Together with my friends, their first homestay will open in 2022, and until now, the business of the homestay is very good, and every holiday, there will be a long period of full house.

Foreign tourists may be able to better understand the psychological needs of the homestay, Chen Wenchao's homestay in the decoration, there is a very clear idea: "tourists come here, more want to experience the Tibetan culture, the feeling brought by the architecture", which is the most important reason why he took a fancy to this Tibetan old watchtower at that time. In the process of decoration, he deliberately retained the most primitive and purest Tibetan style elements, in order to meet the expectations of tourists.

In the preparation process of the other two new stores, Chen Wenchao still pays special attention to the implantation of Tibetan traditional culture, and will work with local villagers to launch Tibetan costumes and Tibetan traditional food production experience activities, so that tourists can have a more in-depth experience, and at the same time drive the income of surrounding villagers.

"The ancient Tibetan village has always been open to the open arms, and it used to be a piece of scenery that was open, and now it is also open to development opportunities. Huang Jianhua said with deep feelings.
