Today, China's high-speed rail has become a world-renowned "Chinese business card". Behind this "Chinese speed" that amazes the world, there is the hard work and sweat of thousands of railway builders. Bai Zhiyong, a 46-year-old senior technician of precision engineering surveying of China Railway First Bureau, is an excellent representative of them.
In 2012, in order to comprehensively and systematically repair the overloaded Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the state decided to build a river-bottom tunnel five kilometers upstream of the bridge. The complexity of its construction has no precedent at home and abroad, and the precision measurement task of this world-class project falls on Bai Zhiyong and his team, their job is to use the precision measurement data to guide the "Tianhe No. 1" shield machine, a 100-meter-long behemoth weighing 1,000 tons, to travel 4 kilometers at the bottom of the dark river, not only to pass through soft soil, hard rock, sand and pebbles and other complex formations, but also to ensure that the error of 50 mm within the range to reach the designated exit, the difficulty can be imagined.
In order to reduce measurement interference and ensure the accuracy of the data, Bai Zhiyong and the survey team members could only choose the time period when there were fewer construction workers at night, and each time they entered the tunnel to measure, it took nearly 10 hours, which was so sleepy that they could only lie on the instrument box and take a nap. During that time, he was almost paranoid about proofreading and verifying the measurement data over and over again, and even slept until midnight, often waking up, and then getting up to continue measuring and reviewing the data.
On July 2, 2015, after more than 900 days and nights of hard work, Bai Zhiyong and his team created a miracle in the history of engineering precision measurement, and the "Tianhe No. 1" shield machine accurately penetrated into the steel ring set in advance at the exit position.
But no one would have thought that such a precision measurement expert, in 2001, when he first joined the precision measurement team, he was at the bottom of the team. At that time, except for him who graduated from a technical secondary school, everyone else in the team was a college student majoring in surveying, and some were also senior engineers. As the saying goes, diligence can make up for clumsiness, and Bai Zhiyong, who did not admit defeat, began to polish himself, regardless of winter, summer, cold or summer, as long as he did not go on a business trip, Bai Zhiyong would practice on the river embankment for three or four hours every day.
Bai Zhiyong: "Only hard practice can be proficient, only proficiency can be accurate, this is like the unity of man and sword, we have to practice our measuring instruments into a part of a certain organ of our body, so that we can be accurate, in order to be accurate and correct." ”
In 2005, Bai Zhiyong, who worked hard in the precision measurement team for four years, became a dark horse in the "Shaanxi Provincial Staff Engineering Surveying Skills Competition", stood out and won the championship with an absolute advantage. Since then, Bai Zhiyong has begun to shine in the field of precision engineering measurement. He has participated in the accurate measurement projects of more than 50 major projects such as the Qinling extra-long tunnel, the Wusheling extra-long tunnel, the Zhengwan high-speed railway, and the Jinan Yellow River Bridge connecting line, all of which have passed the one-time acceptance without a single measurement accident.
Bai Zhiyong often said that it was the greatest honor of his life to be able to witness China's high-speed rail from scratch to become a "Chinese business card" recognized by the world. Over the past 25 years, he and his team have traveled almost all over the country, fighting at the construction sites of high-speed rail subways, roads, bridges and tunnels, and their precision measurement of high-speed rail lines has accounted for nearly one-tenth of the total mileage of the country's operation. It is precisely because of thousands of builders like Bai Zhiyong that we have today's Chinese speed that shocks the world and makes the Chinese people proud.
Bai Zhiyong is currently an expert of China Railway First Bureau, an expert of China Railway First Bureau No. 5 Company, the leader of China Railway Engineering Surveying Alliance, the head of the National Skill Master Studio, and was rated as a national model worker in 2015, and was elected as a representative of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2017, and won the China Skills Award in 2022.

With high-intensity practice and unremitting efforts, Huang Yunna not only quickly mastered the operation skills of the equipment, but also showed amazing proficiency on the basis of proficiency. Only one year after entering the factory, she won the first place in the group operation competition with her outstanding performance, and then won the "champion of the group operation competition" for many years.
In 2012, the group wanted to develop a difficult variety, this variety has many broken heads and high downtime rate, because the operation is extremely difficult, it is likely to lead to the production task can not be completed on time, at this critical moment, the heavy responsibility fell on Huang Yunna's shoulders again.
After countless trials, mistakes and efforts, Huang Yunna and her co-workers finally explored a set of "strong twisting cloth operation method". This method not only ensures that the production tasks are completed on time, but also greatly improves the quality of the products. Later, this operation method was widely promoted and applied in the workshop, which not only improved the production efficiency, but also created economic benefits of nearly 200,000 yuan for the group.
Over the years, Huang Yunna has brought a total of 37 apprentices, 23 of whom have become the backbone of production, and 10 of whom have been awarded the title of operation pacesetter or expert by the group. Over the years, Huang Yunna has been transferred from a weaving workshop worker to an operation technician, mainly responsible for the technical inspection of the workshop.
In 2017, Huang Yunna was honorably elected as a representative of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and in 2023, she was elected as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress. In the face of the new honor and mission, Huang Yunna will continue to play an exemplary role in her post, actively promote the spirit of model workers and craftsmen, and strive to show the new style of industrial workers in the process of catching up and surpassing in the new era.
Liu Xiangbin, a great craftsman
From Shenzhou travel, to Beidou navigation, from "Chang'e" to the moon, to "Jiaolong" into the sea...... Behind the heavy weapons of every big country there are great craftsmen of great powers. One of the most critical components in the navigation system of the country's heavy equipment is the gyroscope. Whether the missile can hit the target, whether the satellite can reach the predetermined orbit, and whether the submersible can reach the designated sea area depends on the precise positioning of the "eyes" of the gyroscope, and Liu Xiangbin is the person who polishes these "eyes."
In 1983, after 20-year-old Liu Xiangbin was discharged from the army, he came to the 7107 factory, the cradle of the development and production of inertial navigation equipment in the mainland, and became a miller.
Liu Xiangbin: "What is a milling machine? What is a drill? What is a drawing? What is a mechanical foundation? I was all a blank piece of paper, at that time I secretly made up my mind, I must be ruthless to myself, force myself to work harder, run errands with the master during the day, go to self-study at night, write down what I don't know with notes, and the next morning I asked the masters in the workshop. ”
It is with this drilling strength that Liu Xiangbin finally became the most skilled miller in the factory. When he entered the factory, Liu Xiangbin, who only had a high level of Chinese, reminded himself all the time that slow progress is backwards. In 2015, Liu Xiangbin's unit accepted a major project to overcome the technical difficulties of an ultra-high precision instrument parts. This is one of the most advanced precision inertial navigation instruments in the world, which is a key core component in the field of aerospace and defense equipment, and the manufacturing technology is also monopolized by foreign countries.
In order to no longer be controlled by technology, Liu Xiangbin led his team to decide to challenge the technical difficulties. Tea and food, day and night, Liu Xiangbin is like a demon, immersed in his own world, thousands of times a little bit of refinement. Finally, they succeeded in realizing the autonomous control of the technology and became the leader in ultra-precision machining in the field of inertial navigation. On October 1, 2019, the military parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was grandly held.
