Since the Shenzhou-17 crew entered the Chinese space station on October 26, 2023, the three astronauts have been in orbit for 187 days, during which they have carried out two out-of-cabin activities, cooperated with the completion of multiple cargo out-of-cabin missions on the space station, and successively carried out the installation, commissioning, and debugging of equipment inside and outside the cabin. At the same time, with the close cooperation of ground scientific researchers, a large number of space science experiments involving microgravity basic physics, space materials science, space life science, space medicine, space technology and other fields have been completed, and these breakthrough achievements have contributed valuable data and experience to mankind's exploration of the mysteries of the universe.

During the return process, the Shenzhou-17 spacecraft successfully implemented the autonomous fast rendezvous and docking technology, and its precise control and stable performance further proved the world's leading level of the mainland's spacecraft automatic control technology. In addition, the spacecraft used a number of innovative return technologies and recovery systems such as advanced guidance and control technology and thermal protection system during the return stage to effectively ensure the safe return of astronauts.
