Recently, the painted ibis, a national first-class protected wild animal, appeared in the Haiwei National Wetland Park (pilot) in Changjiang, Hainan. A total of 12 painted ibises were monitored this time, setting a record high in the number of painted ibises in Hainan. The painted ibis is a close relative of the crested ibis, known as the "jewel of the Orient", and its body is slender and dark, but when exposed to sunlight, its feathers will show a green metallic luster, and change color with the movement of the painted ibis, so it is called "colorful black".
