"We started transplanting on April 18th, and there are 50 workers working every day, about 30 acres a day, and the transplanting work can be completed in recent days. Zeng Qingjiang, the person in charge of Yutong Farm in Suiyang County, to which the base belongs, said.
Zeng Qingjiang, a native of Fengcun Village, returned to his hometown in 2021 to start a business and began planting honeysuckle, with a current planting area of more than 500 acres. In order to maximize the benefits of the land, Zeng Qingjiang decided to interplant peppers in 300 acres of honeysuckle fields, effectively realizing the growth of honeysuckle and the income generation of peppers, and achieving the purpose of growing in a short period of time. At the same time, the masses can increase their income by transferring land or working in the base, so as to maximize their interests and make the masses' "money bags" bulge.
"I have been working at the base for the past 3 years, and I have an income of nearly 30,000 yuan a year, which is close to home and convenient, and I also planted 3 acres of chili peppers at home. Villager Zeng Yuanwei said.
"From pepper preparation, planting, management, and picking, I work here, and I can earn a salary of 100 yuan a day, and I don't delay the affairs of the family, which is still very good. Speaking of the income at her doorstep, villager Xu Manhui has a smile on her face, she said, "While working at the base, you can also use the planting techniques you have learned to manage the more than 7 acres of peppers you grow at home." ”
The pepper varieties planted in Fengcun Village are mainly local characteristic bell peppers, which are mainly grown in the high mountains at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, and the bell peppers grown are full of fresh and fragrant fragrance, which is an indispensable raw material in various pepper products and is widely welcomed by the market.
"Our bell pepper, big size, bright color, after drying into beef red, and the fragrance is particularly good, most of the chili products will add this chili pepper to enhance the fragrance, very popular. Zeng Qingjiang said, "Last year, 300 acres of peppers were planted, with an output of more than 70,000 catties of dried peppers and an output value of about 900,000 yuan. Next, we will continue to strengthen the improvement of pepper planting technology, carry out refined management, and further improve the quality of peppers. ”
As busy as Zeng Qingjiang, there is also Sun Xiansheng, chairman of the Fengcun Farming and Breeding Farmers Cooperative in Suiyang County, who began to develop peppers in Fengcun Village in 2017, constantly summing up experience and technology, and effectively promoting agricultural efficiency and farmers' income through the model of "company + cooperative + family farm".
"At this stage, we are mainly busy with the daily management of pepper seedlings and the work of field transplanting. Sun Xiansheng said that our cooperative has now developed to 1,000 acres of planting area, and the workers in the cooperative are nearby villagers, and there are more than 100 people working a day when they are busy, and last year's wages totaled more than 900,000 yuan.
In recent years, Wangba Town has adhered to the guidance of party building, and with the model of "cooperatives + companies + farmers", it has continued to make efforts in the aspects of standardized planting of peppers, the construction of improved pepper varieties and the cultivation of new subjects, so as to drive the masses to develop more than 10,000 acres of pepper planting. The development of the chili industry has not only enriched the "vegetable basket" of the citizens and the "money bags" of the masses, but also created an industrial road for the local "spicy" and "pepper" to get rich.
Wang Shibo said, "This year, there will be two new bases and three new main bodies in Wangba Town, with an additional area of more than 2,000 acres.
