Hengqin 2024 "Macao Youth Internship Programme" officially launched!
There will be 4 special internship programs, providing a total of 190 internship opportunities!
Two of the special internship programs will be available after May Day!
On the afternoon of 29 April, the 2024 "Macao Youth Internship Programme" of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin was officially launched.
Four special internship programmes were launched, providing a total of 190 internship opportunities, aiming to help Macao youths gain an in-depth understanding of the development status and prospects of relevant industries in the Hengqin Co-operation Zone, cultivate more high-quality talents for the diversified development of Macao's industries, and help Macao youths integrate into the overall development of the country.
Specific arrangements for the 2024 "Macao Youth Internship Programme".
The 2024 "Macao Youth Internship Programme" will provide a total of 190 internship positions, each with a duration of 2 months, and 4 special internship programs will be launched, namely:
- Special Internship Program of the Executive Committee of Hengqin Cooperation Zone
- E-sports special internship program
- Special internship program for key industries
- Special plan for the cultural, tourism and exhibition industry
Among them, the two special internship programs of "Hengqin Cooperation Zone Executive Committee" and "E-sports" will be the first to start registration from May 4th to May 24th, and the specific positions and registration methods will be announced in the near future!
The 2024 "Macao Youth Internship Programme" will be carried out on a rolling basis throughout the year, covering both summer and winter vacations, to meet the internship time needs of different groups of Macao youths.
In addition, the organizers will comprehensively enhance the internship experience of Macao youth, improve the internship treatment, organize a variety of leisure activities, and further deepen the cultural and entertainment life experience of Macao youths in the In-depth Cooperation Zone.
More dedicated internship programs will be introduced
Since the establishment of the In-depth Co-operation Zone, the Macao Youth Internship Programme has launched a total of nine special internship programmes, focusing on various fields such as healthcare, high-end manufacturing, cultural tourism, MICE and e-sports.
In the future, the organizer will launch special internship programs for "key industries" and "cultural, tourism, convention and exhibition industries" according to the development status of the internship program and the needs of Macao youth.
Since the establishment of the In-depth Co-operation Zone, the "Macao Youth Internship Programme" has been successfully held twice, attracting nearly 2,000 Macao youths to sign up for the programme.
The Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the In-depth Cooperation Zone, Wong Yu-kit, said that the "Macao Youth Internship Programme" has become an important platform for Macao youths to participate in the construction of the Hengqin Co-operation Zone. It is hoped that through the internship program, the majority of young people in Macao will experience the development opportunities of the In-depth Cooperation Zone and jointly contribute their youth strength to the development of Hengqin.
The Deputy Director of the Macao Labour Bureau, Chan Yuen Tong, said that in recent years, the Macao Labour Bureau has actively cooperated with the Livelihood Bureau of the In-depth Cooperation Zone to launch a number of special internship programs with outstanding enterprises in the Mainland, so that young people in Macao have the opportunity to study in outstanding enterprises in the Mainland. In the future, there will be more development opportunities and practice platforms to help young people better understand the development of the Mainland, experience the workplace, broaden their horizons, and cultivate innovative thinking and teamwork skills.
Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Macao Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Mr. Chan Xu-wai, said that he believed that through the internship program, the students' professional abilities could be enhanced, and at the same time, they would play a positive role in integrating into the overall development of the country.
Speaking as a representative of the outstanding interns, Tsang Tsz Chung, an intern of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau who participated in the 2023 "Macao Youth Internship Program", said that the "Macao Youth Internship Program" will be an important platform for Macao young people to experience working and living in Hengqin, and an indispensable opportunity to devote themselves to the construction of the In-depth Cooperation Zone.
The event was guided by the Executive Committee of the Co-operation Zone, the Education and Youth Affairs Department, the Guangdong Liaison Department and the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao, and co-organized by the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Co-operation Zone, the Labour Affairs Bureau and the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government.
