On December 8, a squadron of the Japanese army and a regiment of the puppet army attacked the town of Fengli. Su Yu ordered Tao Yong to lead the 8th Regiment to hide in the Shuangshen Mountain southeast of Fengli Town. As soon as the enemy entered Fengli Town, the 8th Regiment took it by surprise, attacked from the front and rear, fought quickly, completely annihilated the enemy, and captured the Japanese squadron leader Haneda alive.
Nanpu was not reconciled, and sent 600 Japanese soldiers for the second time, and a regiment of the puppet army surrounded Fengli Town.
Tao Yong adopted counter-encirclement tactics and sent three regiments to wade through the cold waters along the Yellow Sea and detour behind the enemy. In World War I, 800 Japanese puppet troops were annihilated.
This is the fifth time that Nampo has fought for Fengli Town, and it has lost again. He gritted his teeth in hatred. Fengli couldn't attack, so he concentrated his forces to attack Sancang, Dongtai County.
The New Fourth Army guarding Sancang was Ye Fei's 1st Brigade. This unit has fought the most Japanese troops since the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and has thoroughly understood the characteristics of the Japanese army. They are guarding the three warehouses as one man, and they are not allowed to open it. As a result, the Japanese launched seven attacks, all of which were completely lost. Nanpu shouted:
"It's hard to be tough, you can't do it!"
Nanpu dispatched 5,000 soldiers and horses to fight Su Yu. However, after several days of fighting, the structure of the troops was chaotic, the casualties were heavy, the morale of the troops was weakened, and the morale of the soldiers was lacking. Su Yu saw that the time for a counterattack had come, and immediately concentrated 10 regiments of troops to launch a comprehensive counterattack on the battlefield of 700 miles from the Yangtze River in the south to Sancang in the north. Nanpu was frightened this night, and the next day he saw that the troops were seriously injured and unable to fight again, and his ferocious arrogance was gone, so he ordered in frustration:

As a result, Su Yu commanded the 10th Regiment of the 1st Division to fight, smashing the "sweep" of more than 5,000 people in Nanpu, eliminating more than 1,500 Japanese puppet troops, and capturing 1,000 rifles and 20 light and heavy machine guns.
When the military headquarters of the New Fourth Army received the battle report from Su Yu, they were beaming with joy, and Chen Yi said: "Mr. Peng has engaged in a battle of 100 regiments, and Su Yu has conducted a battle of 10 regiments, and all the sharp spirit of Nanpu has been defeated!"
