This afternoon, the Pudong New Area Federation of Trade Unions held the "Praise Workers and Acura New Era" Pudong New Area to celebrate the May Day theme activity and the launching ceremony of the national leading employee labor and skills competition.
With the theme of "Praise Workers and Acura New Era", this event is divided into three chapters: "Praise the Beauty of Labor", "Sing the Song of Struggle" and "Prospect and Innovation" Since the reform and opening up of Pudong, the advanced model workers have been working from generation to generation, passing on the precious spirit from generation to generation, and the colorful performances of the new Pudong Workers Art Troupe have vividly demonstrated the high-spirited attitude of the vast number of workers in Pudong based on their posts and making contributions, and expressed the confidence and determination of the workers in the new era to firmly unite and forge ahead on a new journey and make contributions to lead the district.
Zhou Qi, first-level inspector of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Ni Qian, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Pudong New Area People's Congress, secretary of the party group and chairman of the District Federation of Trade Unions, and Zhu Huihua, vice chairman of the Pudong New Area CPPCC, attended and jointly launched the 2024 Pudong New Area National Leading Labor and Skills Competition.
This year, the Pudong New Area Federation of Trade Unions took the construction of the national leading labor and skill competition system as the starting point, formulated and implemented the "Guidelines for Improving the Quality and Empowerment of Labor and Skill Competition for Employees in Pudong New Area", and improved the formation of the "five highs" (high-level hard-core industry, high-level legal guarantee, high-quality project construction, high-efficiency urban governance, and high-quality public services) and "three-level" (district-regional, industry-grass-roots units) competition system. During the year, 29 district-level, regional and industry-specific projects will be used as the traction, and 2,500 competition projects will be carried out in the whole region, covering 1.2 million employees. Focusing on deepening the integrated model of "training and competition certificates", the Federation of Trade Unions of the New District will deepen cooperation with 17 industry authorities and 39 professional and high-level industry associations and professional institutions, and is expected to train 200,000 employees and issue 1,000 vocational qualification certificates.

A total of 500 people participated in the event, including model workers and craftsmen in Pudong, representatives of the winners of the five series awards, various mass organizations in Pudong, member units of the labor competition organizing committee, directly affiliated trade unions and employee representatives.
