Is KTV really at the end of its rope?

In 2020, the overall passenger flow of the KTV industry fell by 70%-80%. According to Tianyancha data, as of March 2021, there are 64,000 existing KTV companies in China, and as many as 40,000 enterprises have been cancelled or revoked, which is almost equivalent to 2/3 of the existing number. The revenue of karaoke venues has shown a cliff-like downward trend, and the winter of the KTV industry has really come.

Today's young people live in a more colorful world and no longer have relatively unified hobbies like the post-80s. Today, any star singer may be just a stranger to a group other than his fans. By analogy, it is no longer surprising that KTV is no longer tacitly regarded as the "choice of the public".

Interestingly, KTV seems to have become the new favorite of uncles and aunts. According to media reports, many retired elderly people will sing and entertain in KTV, and bring their own drinks and food. The reason, of course, is that it is cheap and affordable to look at KTV.

This may not be bad news for KTV. After all, everyone wants to sing a lot, as long as this just needs to be there, it is too early to talk about the demise of KTV. In the future, how will it survive? Will it turn around gorgeously again and regain the love of young people? These issues are still worth looking forward to.
