Firstly, combined with the performance and structural characteristics of electric heating, the working principle of the existing electric heating technology is analyzed. Then, the differences between electrode electric heating, solid-state electric heating and traditional heating in terms of conversion energy efficiency, ramp-up rate and safety degree were sorted out. Finally, in view of the advantages of electrode electric heating such as stepless regulation and fast response speed, the application prospects of electrode electric heating in power grid peak shaving and valley filling, liberating thermal power units during heating period, and participating in frequency modulation auxiliary services are discussed.
