Northwest Region: Cheng Huiling reports
After the wind and rain, the ibis township casts the soul. On the special day of April 28, 2024, 15 volunteers from Yangxian County, Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, at the invitation of the County Veterans Affairs Bureau and the County People's Association, actively participated in the theatrical performance of "Yangxian County Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the '4.28' Reconquest of Laoshan and Condolences to the Martyrs". The event was held on the indoor stage of the county cultural center, and the volunteers were mainly responsible for the sign-in reception and logistics support of guests from all parties.
At 1 p.m., volunteers arrived early and quickly divided into three groups to carry out the operation. One group was responsible for receiving the guests warmly and doing the check-in work carefully, one group carefully cleaned the venue, and thoughtfully pasted the number on each seat, putting mineral water and leaflets, and one group quietly assisted behind the scenes, responsible for sorting and carrying the performance props.
At 2:30, the show officially kicked off. The first to appear was the sitcom recitation "Man Jianghong" brought by the children of South Street School, and their passionate and majestic recitation instantly ignited the blood in people's hearts and aroused strong patriotic feelings. The subsequent stage play "The Light of Faith" affectionately tells the heroic deeds of Zhao Yuejin, a young man in his hometown in the 1984 Sino-Vietnamese self-defense counterattack. He actively responded to the call of the country, in order to defend the country, bid farewell to his relatives to join the army, and finally died heroically on the front line at the age of 19. This story evoked the deep nostalgia of the veterans for their comrades-in-arms, and also brought a deep spiritual touch to the young people. Wonderful programs are continuous, dizzying, including Allegro "Learning from Heroes and Salute to the Martyrs", performing and singing "Taking Lei Feng's Gun", sitcom "Red Army in Huayang", Qin Yan, etc., as well as retired veteran Ma Shengyun made a report on the deeds of combat heroes with deep affection, so that more people can understand that period of history, revere heroes, and more deeply understand the hard-won success of today's prosperous era. The performance lasted until 6 o'clock, and the audience was still unsatisfied.
After the performance, some of the volunteers helped the veterans with limited mobility to leave the venue, and some carefully cleaned up the confetti and white garbage in the venue until everything was cleaned up before finally leaving the venue.
Through this activity, the volunteers experienced the inheritance of the red gene and a spiritual baptism, more deeply understood the importance of supporting the army and patriotism, and strengthened the confidence and determination to be a qualified volunteer.
