For the first time, the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad for Secondary School Students was held in China, and this year's competition was jointly organized by Moscow State University, the Melnichenko Foundation and the Northern Moscow University in Shenzhen. In an interview, Zhao Zeyu said that winning the award was expected, but winning the second prize of the Lu Ning Award was indeed unexpected. Last year, Zhao Zeyu won the ninth place in the 37th Chinese Chemistry Olympiad and was selected for the national training team. At present, he has been sent to Peking University.
Different countries have different styles of chemistry competitions, such as Russia, which is more difficult in elemental chemistry.
