At 181Km/h, the "Xinjin-made" train set a new world record!

author:Chengdu Xinjin

On the evening of April 20, 2024, on the embedded medium and low-speed maglev comprehensive test line of Xinjin Tianfu Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, the three-train embedded medium and low-speed maglev train of Sichuan Development Maglev Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xinzhu Co., Ltd., completed the 180km/h speed test.

After testing and witnessing by a third-party qualification testing unit, the maximum speed of the train reached 181km/h, which once again refreshed the speed record of 169km/h in the field of medium and low-speed maglev transportation previously created by the maglev train.

About the Xinjin Maglev Train / 01

Maglev vehicle, also known as maglev train, is a modern high-tech rail transportation tool, which realizes contactless suspension and guidance between the train and the track through electromagnetic force, and uses linear motor to pull the train for operation.

In 2018, Xinzhu Co., Ltd. signed a TSB system technology introduction agreement with the German Bourg company, and officially released the embedded maglev transportation system at the first Chengdu International Industry Fair.

After nearly 5 years, Xinzhu Co., Ltd. has digested and absorbed German technology, and re-innovated in combination with the industry standards of China's rail transit.

In 2023, the company officially released and announced the official launch of commercial promotion. At the same time, Xinzhu Co., Ltd. also took the lead in compiling four local standards in Sichuan Province and Chengdu Group Standards, including the design standards for the embedded maglev transportation system, which provided standard support conditions for commercial promotion and application.

According to Tang Lin, general manager of Chuanfa Maglev, the localized embedded medium and low-speed maglev transportation system mainly includes track beams, turnouts, vehicles and other subsystems, and the localization rate has reached more than 93%.

Maglev is a new track of rail transit, and the industrial chain formed is worth paying attention to: on the one hand, it can attract enterprises in the field of new industrial chain links such as electromagnetic control and linear motors, and on the other hand, based on the overlap rate of 60%-70% with the domestic rail transit industry chain, it can create more cooperation opportunities with local supporting enterprises for mutual benefit and win-win.

The Birth of a World Record / 02

At about 19 o'clock on April 20, 2024, the test team started the maglev train speed test according to the scheduled plan, and first verified the line position corresponding to the maximum speed of the train through the operation of the maglev train speed level of 80km/h and 130km/h and prepared for the speed test.

At 20:23, the embedded maglev train started from the end of the maglev comprehensive test line, setting a record for the maximum speed of 177km/h for the first time.

The test team optimized the operating parameters, and at 20:49, the embedded maglev train started to accelerate from the end of the line again, and after the test of the third-party qualification testing unit, the embedded maglev train created a world record of 181km/h in the field of medium and low-speed maglev transportation!

The 180km/h speed test of the embedded medium and low-speed maglev train was successful, once again setting a new world record for speed in the field of medium and low-speed maglev transportation. This also marks a higher level of performance and technology of embedded maglev products, which can cover a wider range of rail transit application scenarios and meet the needs of higher speed levels.

As a locally grown enterprise, Xinzhu Co., Ltd. has created a world record that is inseparable from the consistent support of the Xinjin District Party Committee and District Government, and is the inevitable product of the continuous optimization of the business environment.

The maglev train of Xinzhu Co., Ltd. is the representative of Xinjin's new quality productivity, and is a strong driving force for the construction of the No. 1 project of "strong industrial zone", and its advanced technology has also attracted foreign attention.

Recently, Dr. Markus Söder, Governor of Bavaria, Germany, and his entourage visited the maglev comprehensive test base of Xinzhu Co., Ltd., and took a test ride to experience the company's three-car maglev train, and inspected the 3.6km maglev test line and maglev operation control center on the spot.

Söder said that Bavaria attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation, and will actively promote the promotion and application of this maglev transportation system in Bavaria, Germany, and the huge Chinese market.

He hoped that the Chinese and German partners would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation, promote the implementation and operation of the first maglev commercial demonstration project as soon as possible, and demonstrate its technical advantages and commercial application value as soon as possible.

Subsequently, Governor Soder quickly posted a blog post on his Facebook & X ("Twitter") account describing the visit. Governor Soder's blog post reads as follows:

The economy of Bavaria is very dynamic in China. For example, the construction company Max Bögl Group in the borough of Upper Palatinate operates a maglev test line in Chengdu. We went to the site for a tour and a test ride. This innovative "mobility" concept is of great interest to be climate-friendly, quiet and compatible with current urban public transport systems, especially as intra-city transport systems.

In Bavaria, we are also relying on these state-of-the-art innovations and are conducting a feasibility study on a planned maglev rail line in Nuremberg. If we want to export our technology abroad, we must rely on it at home. I wish this China-Upper Palatinate partnership a success!
