On April 26, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission reported that Huo Xi, the financial director of CITIC Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the discipline inspection and supervision team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission in CITIC Group.
The official website of CITIC Group also forwarded the news of Huo Xi's investigation.
According to public information, CITIC Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. (CITIC Agriculture) was established in December 2014, formerly known as CITIC Modern Agricultural Investment Co., Ltd., a member of CITIC.
CITIC Agriculture includes plant breeding, animal breeding, animal protection, science and technology platforms, financial platforms and other sectors, and holds shares in and holds shares in many well-known domestic enterprises. Among them, CITIC Agriculture is the largest shareholder of Longping Hi-Tech, a listed company, with a direct shareholding of 16.54% as of the end of the third quarter of 2023.
In June 2016, CITIC Agriculture, together with Longping Hi-Tech, Haid Group, Zhuque Investment and other shareholders, established CITIC Agricultural Industry Fund Management Co., Ltd. In April 2018, China State-owned Enterprise Structural Adjustment Fund Co., Ltd. was introduced as a strategic investor. In addition, Huo Xi also serves as a director of Huazhi Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yuelu Mountain Seed Industry Innovation Center Co., Ltd. and other places, and the related companies have equity relations with CITIC Agriculture.
According to public reports, in March this year, Longping Hi-Tech and the Qujing Municipal Government held a discussion and signed a strategic cooperation agreement, and Huo Xi participated in the discussion.
Since the beginning of 2024, CITIC Group has continued to promote resolute anti-corruption, and many cadres have been investigated.
On April 9, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission reported that Li Yajun, former secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Xinli Energy Development Co., Ltd., was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission in CITIC Group and the Tianjin Municipal Supervision Commission.
In January this year, Xu Xiang, former director of the Office of the Board of Supervisors of CITIC Group Co., Ltd., and Zhang Xu, former member of the Party Committee and vice chairman of CITIC Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., were both suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and were successively examined and investigated.
On April 8, the third round of inspection objects of the 20th Central Committee was announced, and CITIC Group Co., Ltd. was among them. On April 16, the 12th Central Inspection Group inspected the work mobilization meeting of the Party Committee of CITIC Group Co., Ltd.
Shi Kehui, head of the 12th Central Inspection Group, said that the Central Inspection Group will keep a close eye on power and responsibility, strengthen supervision over the "number one", and concentrate on strengthening inspection and rectification; adhere to the positioning of political inspections, accurately grasp the characteristics of financial units, prevent and resolve financial risks, promote the structural reform of the financial supply side, promote the comprehensive and strict governance of the party in depth, strengthen the construction of leading groups, cadre talent teams and grassroots party organizations, and rectify problems found in inspections and audits.
