On the afternoon of April 26, the award ceremony of the 4th "Haiju Talents" Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Huangpu Selection Competition and the 2024 "Burning Huangpu" Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition was held in Science and Technology Beijing. The competition was guided by the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Shanghai Haiju Talent Development Promotion Association, and jointly organized by the Talent Work Leading Group Office of the Huangpu District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Huangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
"Haiju Talents" and "Burning Huangpu" are integrated and strengthened
Talent is the first resource, and innovation and entrepreneurship are the first driving force to lead Huangpu's economic and social development. In order to further form a joint force and build a brand of Huangpu entrepreneurial talents, the Talent Office of the District Party Committee and the District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau combined the "Haiju Talents" Huangpu Selection Competition and the "Burning Huangpu" Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition.
As of the end of February, a total of 254 projects have signed up for the competition, including 155 "seed stage" projects, 84 "start-up stage" projects, and 15 "growth period" projects, the ratio of entrepreneurs to men and women is 8:9, and the proportion of master's and doctoral degrees is more than 30%, and the minimum age of entrepreneurs who sign up for the competition is "post-05".
The registered projects cover Huangpu's "3+3+X" key industries such as commerce and trade, science and technology, and cultural tourism, involving scientific and technological innovation subdivisions such as biomedicine, new materials, and artificial intelligence, as well as cultural and creative subdivisions such as cultural tourism and performing arts, intelligent education, and silver economy, which fully demonstrate the depth and breadth of innovation and entrepreneurship in Huangpu District, and add new momentum to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
After the primary selection and final selection, the final 15 entrepreneurs won the first, second, third prize and the winning award, Li Ming, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, announced the first prize winner and presented the award, and the winning projects will advance to the semi-finals of the 4th "Haiju Talents" Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
"Entrepreneurship-driven Employment List" helps cultivate the best "employers"
In order to explore a group of potential start-up enterprises with growth, scale, sustainable development and strong competitive advantages in entrepreneurship-driven employment, and help the listed enterprises to better attract, retain and cultivate talents, 12 potential enterprises and 6 influential enterprises on the "Entrepreneurship-driven Employment List" were also selected on the spot. Companies on the list will receive targeted entrepreneurial services including ESG strategic guidance, innovation and entrepreneurship training camps, etc.
It is reported that since its launch on March 21, it has attracted a total of 54 start-ups and business incubation carriers to consult and sign up.
The "Entrepreneurial Talent Lounge" creates an inclusive and co-creation space
The award ceremony also held the "Entrepreneurial Talent Lounge" awarding ceremony. Adhering to the concept of "entrepreneurs empowering entrepreneurs", the Huangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau took the lead in setting up the first batch of "Entrepreneurial Talent Meeting Rooms" in the four trendy spaces opened by the four entrepreneurs, providing an efficient and convenient communication place for entrepreneurial talents, and creating a relaxed, comfortable, stylish and atmospheric business negotiation environment.
Huangpu District continues to strengthen and deepen its entrepreneurship and innovation work, and has launched innovative measures such as the Global University Innovation Card Station and the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street Entrepreneurship Star Park. As a benefit of the competition, the District Bureau of Culture and Tourism also presented the winners and enterprises of the "Entrepreneurship-driven Employment List" with the 2024 Shanghai City Lawn Music Annual VIP Pass, as well as the free borrowing qualifications of Huangpu District Library and Mingfu Library, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of entrepreneurial talents and enhancing their sense of identity with Huangpu.
