On April 26, Panyu District held the 2024 "May Day" International Labor Day Conference and the "I want to be a craftsman" staff speech contest (final) to jointly celebrate the glorious festival of the working people, fully implement the relevant spirit of the superiors, vigorously carry forward the labor spirit of model workers and craftsmen in the new era, unite and mobilize the majority of employees to accelerate the development of new quality productivity, promote the construction of "intelligent innovation city", and strive to be at the forefront of promoting Chinese-style modernization and make new contributions to Panyu. More than 200 people attended the meeting, including Guo Wandong, a first-level researcher of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Wang Yuxiang, a first-level researcher of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Lin Shiguo, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress and chairman of the District Federation of Trade Unions, all members of the leading group of the District Federation of Trade Unions, representatives of model workers, and representatives of trade unions and workers at all levels.

The second is to actively participate in the practice of Panyu's reform and development and be a promoter of high-quality development. The participants watched the promotional video of "To You Who Are Struggling" of the District Federation of Trade Unions; Guo Wandong, Wang Yuxiang, Lin Shiguo and others presented awards to the units and individuals who won various awards and the winners of the "I want to be a craftsman" employee speech contest (final); Hu Chaoqiang, chief engineer of the Power Fittings Division of Panyu Cable Group Co., Ltd., who won the 2023 Guangdong Worker Pioneer, shared his deeds; Zhang Benjie, chairman of the trade union of Guangzhou Hongxun Elevator Parts Co., Ltd., issued an initiative to all employees in Panyu District, advocating that the comrades of all walks of life in the district should abide by the original mission and be a firm defender of the "two establishments" and a loyal practitioner of the "two maintenances". The second is to shoulder the heavy responsibility of the times and be the main force to promote the high-quality development of Panyu. GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. won the national "May Day Labor Award", Guangzhou Chimelong Group Co., Ltd. won the "May Day Labor Award" of Guangdong Province, and the Phoenix Platform Project Team of Guangzhou Juwan Technology Co., Ltd. was awarded the "Worker Pioneer" of Guangdong Province. Li Laige, a teacher from Guangzhou Nanhua Industry and Trade Senior Technical School, won the gold medal of the jewelry processing (World Competition Selection) project of the 2nd National Vocational Skills Competition and was awarded the "May Day Labor Medal" of Guangdong Province.
The Panyu District Federation of Trade Unions was awarded the 2023 Guangdong Province Advanced County-level Federation of Trade Unions for Promoting the Construction of the "Strong Foundation Project", the Trade Union Committee of the Panyu Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau was awarded the 2023 Guangdong Trade Union Love Trusteeship Class, the Panyu District Federation of Trade Unions, the Nancun Town Federation of Trade Unions, the Panyu District Market Supervision Administration Trade Union, and the Zhongyao Holding Group Co., Ltd. Trade Union were awarded the 2023 Guangzhou Five-Star Trade Union Organization, and Guangzhou Haoyang Electronics Co., Ltd. and Luo Qiwei Maternity Sports Studio were awarded the 2023 Guangzhou Female Employee Innovation Studio.
After competition, the first, second and third prizes of the "I want to be a craftsman" staff speech contest (finals) were decided. Li Xiaoze from the Trade Union of Panyu District Branch of Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and Su Shuguang from the Trade Union Committee of Panyu District Health System of Guangzhou City won the first prize in the final.
