By the end of the day, light crude oil futures for June delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell $0.55, or 0.66 percent, to settle at $82.81 a barrel, and Brent crude futures for June delivery fell $0.40, or 0.45 percent, to settle at $88.02 a barrel.
