"I announce the opening of the 8th Zhongtian Iron and Steel Group Staff Vocational Skills Competition. At the opening ceremony, Gao Yiping, vice chairman of the board of directors, vice president and deputy secretary of the party committee of the group, announced the opening of the event. As early as February, Zhongtian Iron and Steel Group began to deploy this skills competition, and issued the competition outline, competition technical documents and theoretical question bank in March. The competition set up a total of five types of work: crane worker, maintenance electrician, gas worker, blast furnace ironmaker, converter steelmaker, all of which were individual competitions, with a total of 132 employees from Changzhou, Nantong and Huai'an three bases participating. In the end, according to the results of the competition, the group will select outstanding players to participate in the training, and make full preparations for the skills competition above the municipal level and the 11th National Iron and Steel Industry Vocational Skills Competition of "Shagang Cup".

Wang Ying, assistant to the president of Zhongtian Iron and Steel Group and general manager of Zhongtian Special Steel Company, delivered an opening speech. He pointed out that the employee vocational skills competition is a key measure for the group to accelerate the cultivation of high-skilled talents and improve the construction of talent team. He hoped that all the contestants would compete in terms of level, style, results and spirit, and extend the purpose of the competition to the outside of the competition, set off an upsurge of "catching up with learning" in the group, and comprehensively promote employees to actively participate in the activities of "diligent learning technology and hard skills", and strive to train themselves into skilled craftsmen, so as to inject a steady stream of "new" kinetic energy into the development of new quality productivity of the group.

Subsequently, Liu Lei, vice chairman of the group's trade union and director of the Party and Mass Work Department, made a presentation on the preparations for the skills competition. Su Yuanyang, the representative of the contestants, and Jiang Caiqin, the representative of the referees, took the oath respectively.

This competition implements a combination of theoretical and practical examinations, and will reward the top six players in each project. After the opening ceremony, the practical operation competition of three types of work, namely maintenance electrician, crane worker and gas worker, officially kicked off. The contestants responded calmly, raced against time, and meticulously completed every step, and the atmosphere of the process was warm and tense.

Liu Cheng, from Zhongtian Special Steel Sintering Plant, has been working as an electrician for 12 years, and this time he signed up for the competition for the maintenance electrician project, which is also his second time participating in the group-level competition. "The group has built such a platform for us, not only to show ourselves, but also to improve our skills and mind. In the future, I will actively improve my skills, learn new knowledge, learn advanced equipment, and contribute to the development of the group. Liu Cheng said.

Zhang Liangliang from Zhongtian Nantong New Material Technology Co., Ltd. is a point inspection station manager in the equipment department, but at the same time he is a crane worker. He has won many awards in the field of lifting machinery in municipal and district skill competitions. "Each crane of the crane must be stable, accurate, fast, safe and reasonable, the competition is novel, every time we hold such a skills competition, including the post staff are a platform for learning and self-improvement. I want to get a good ranking, improve my own shortcomings in the next work, and do a good job of 'passing on the help', not only to improve myself, but also to help my colleagues improve." Zhang Liangliang said.

"In addition to the three general types of work held in Zhongtian Special Steel Company, we also have projects in Zhongtian Nantong Company, which has built a better platform for the cultivation of skilled talents through the competition, so that the skilled workers of the whole group can be better promoted and trained. With the implementation of the strategic layout of "one headquarters, multiple bases", the Group has further promoted the construction of the industrial worker team, continuously improved the skill competition system by promoting the construction of the industrial worker training base, established and improved the primary and secondary systems of the skill competition, and empowered the growth of industrial workers with high quality. At present, the group has been able to independently complete more than 30 types of work such as sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking, and steel rolling, with a certification rate of up to 90%. At the same time, the group has carried out many skill competitions and hosted municipal skill competitions, and many players have achieved good results in the competition.

"The trade union of the group has made a series of corresponding measures for industrial reform, the most important of which is the training of skilled personnel and the innovation and efficiency of employees. Next, the group will focus on these two parts, as well as the implementation of the 'three-channel' reform, accelerate the improvement of the comprehensive quality of the industrial worker team, and contribute to the development of Zhongtian Iron and Steel's new quality productivity. Liu Lei said.

Since Zhongtian Iron and Steel Group promoted the industrial reform in 2019, it has continuously optimized the top-level design, continuously strengthened coordination and guidance, and achieved phased results in the industrial reform with the "three major projects" of political construction, empowerment and growth, and guarantee services. This year, the group will focus on the list of ten practical things for the construction and reform of Jiangsu's industrial worker team in 2024: promote the upgrading of innovation studios, hold high-quality vocational skills competitions for employees, and implement the construction of a scientific and technological innovation achievement database for employees...... From "point" to "surface", we should develop new quality productive forces in accordance with local conditions, and promote the deepening and practical transformation of production.
