It can be said that the United States is trying to obstruct us from developing high-end chip manufacturing. Chip design should start from the selection of the underlying instruction set architecture, RISC-V is a new architecture in recent years, before the world there were two mainstream chip architectures, namely X86 and ARM, but both of them belong to enterprises.

Among them, the X86 architecture belonged to the American company Intel, and the ARM architecture originally belonged to the British company ARM, but was later acquired by Japan's SoftBank. To use both architectures, you need to get their authorization and pay a fee.

Although RISC-V originated in American universities, it is a completely open standard that can be downloaded and used by anyone in the world.

Sure enough, when Huawei was sanctioned by the United States, it was indeed restricted. Therefore, Huawei had to sell the X86 server business, and ARM said that it would not limit it, but in the end it did not authorize Huawei's V9 architecture.

Due to the early layout of our company in RISC-V R&D, not only half of the senior members of the RISC-V International Foundation are Chinese enterprises, such as Alibaba, Huawei, ZTE, UNISOC, etc., and half of the global RISC-V architecture chips are from Chinese enterprises.

We have basically achieved the dominance of the RISC-V architecture, and even American companies such as Intel, Qualcomm, and Google have continued to join.

It can be said that with the active promotion of our Chinese enterprises, the RISC-V architecture is becoming the third mainstream architecture in the world alongside X86 and ARM. And it is precisely because the US side sees this aspect, which is why it wants to further restrict our development.

In this regard, some foreign media directly said that the United States can't stop it at all, because in order to maintain neutrality in the RISC-V architecture, the headquarters has been moved from the United States to Switzerland, and Chinese companies account for the majority of the RISC-V Foundation and have a certain right to speak!

However, the US side will not play its cards according to the routine at all, and there may be some kind of moth, and we still have to be vigilant against this!
