This means that they are just shameless.
Tsai Ing-wen thinks that this model will continue to work, because what she wants in her heart is the cross-strait peace dividend left by Ma Ying-jeou, and they think that they already have the capital to sit down and talk with the mainland on an equal footing, without the "92 consensus". Because the DPP believed at that time that the "consensus of '92" was the consensus reached by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in 1992, and during the Chen Shui-bian period, he had to admit the "consensus of '92." He only said that it was the "spirit of '92," but in fact it meant the same thing, that is, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party could negotiate a consensus in '92.
Why can't the Communist Party and the DPP come up with a consensus that belongs to the DPP? In fact, this is the DPP, which is completely ignorant of cross-strait relations. At that time, the "consensus of '92" was negotiated between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party by the white-glove "Strait Exchange Foundation" and the "Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait." That was officially authorized, and it had official effect, which means that if you win the DPP election, you must cover the coffin and praise it.
However, the DPP does not want to pay the bill, and they want to sit down and negotiate another set of consensus with the mainland, but they are not afraid of any premise. After Tsai Ing-wen was elected, the most common thing they said was that the two sides of the strait should reach a consensus on the basis of reciprocity and dignity and no prerequisites. Therefore, they have always wanted to say that since we have all the administrative, legislative, and great powers in our hands, why does the mainland not talk to the DPP and how there can be progress in cross-strait relations, so they naively always think that the mainland must submit to the will of the people in the Taiwan region and must sit down and talk with the DPP on an equal footing, and this is on the basis of the absence of the "consensus of '92."
However, the mainland still has another option, that is, not to talk about it, because it cannot be discussed without the "consensus of '92." At that time, the DPP was arrogant and domineering, and it simply did not take the mainland seriously, and everyone said that they must talk about it, and now that we have "executive", "legislative", and monopoly powers, the Kuomintang is about to be bubbled, and if you don't talk to me, who will you talk to, after all, I am the master of the house, and I am the biggest. Facts have proved that the two sides of the strait have not talked since then, and I do not know how the DPP feels.
As a result, on the eve of the World Health Assembly, the health and welfare department in Taiwan began to say that the invitation letter has not yet been received, which is really funny. It has not been received before, and it is even less likely to be received this year. Isn't it a very funny thing that a "pragmatic Taiwan independence worker" is elected and wants to receive an invitation letter? Moreover, his deputies are called "stubborn Taiwan independence elements," and the responsible persons of the administrative departments he picks are also "stubborn Taiwan independence elements," and he is surrounded by "stubborn Taiwan independence elements." Is it completely impossible for such people to get an invitation to the World Health Assembly?
The health and welfare department of the Taiwan region had to go to the café next to the venue, and then go to the venue to bring some friends out to talk, saying that they were also participating, and then put up some protest slogans at the venue saying that the Taiwan region could not participate, and the representatives of the United States, the European Union, and Japan also said that we paid lip service to the meaningful participation of the Taiwan region, but in fact they did not dare to put forward proposals at the conference.
All of this is lip service, so the DPP authorities do not need to have illusions, because such illusions are useless, and they are already doomed to not get the invitation letter anyway, let alone go to a meeting, and when asked by the media, they say that there will be no more this year, and don't say that they are still working hard. Don't talk about hard work, no matter how hard you try, it's useless, it's all in vain, and you will definitely not get an invitation.
