In the face of Du Yuming's 100,000 troops, he lured the enemy into an ambush circle and completely annihilated the 25 th division of the enemy, the ace "Qianliju"; after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he became the first political commissar of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, and later successively served as director of the PLA General Cadre Department and director of the General Political Department.
In 1985, before Xiao Hua died, when the secretary mentioned this matter again, Xiao Hua waved his hand and said, "I don't want it now." ”

The youngest founding general of the Republic was highly valued by Chairman Mao
September 27, 1955 was an extraordinary day for the Chinese People's Liberation Army, on this day, Zhongnanhai Huairen Hall was filled with a festive atmosphere, and the Chinese People's Liberation Army award ceremony was held here.
Xiao Hua became the youngest of the generals and the youngest general of the People's Liberation Army so far, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he presided over the daily work of the General Political Department.
Beginning in 1950, he assisted Nie Rongzhen and Luo Ronghuan, participated in the leadership of the streamlining and reorganization of the troops, and also put forward the idea of preparing for the establishment of the Political Academy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
Under his advocacy, the School of Political Science "runs classes while building a school" in order to quickly make up for the cultural courses of senior military cadres.
Beginning in 1954, he mobilized more than 100 cadres from all over the army and above to set up a cultural class for senior cadres at the Political Academy under construction.
Under the leadership of Xiao Hua, the political construction of the army was also strengthened, for this reason, Chairman Mao, as the chairman of the Central Military Commission, was also very concerned about the work of the General Political Department, and during Luo Ronghuan's serious illness, Xiao Hua, who presided over the daily work of the General Political Department, was summoned by Chairman Mao and became a regular thing.
Chairman Mao was very satisfied with the report "Several Issues Concerning the Construction of the Army's Political Work" made by Luo Ronghuan to Xiao Hua at a meeting of senior military cadres.
After the report was published, Chairman Mao called Xiao Hua to his home and talked about it, that night, Xiao Hua organized the study of a material, and it was already half past one o'clock in the night when he returned home, he just lay down, the telephone bell at the bedside rang, Wang Xinlan picked up the phone, listened to it, and hurriedly handed it to Xiao Hua and said:

Xiao Hua passed away, and he instructed his secretary on his deathbed

General Xiao Hua has done his best all his life, whether it is Jiangxi or fear, the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army or the Lanzhou Military Region, the Military Academy of Sciences, or Jinggangshan and the War of Resistance against Japan and Liberation, General Xiao Hua has left footprints, and he has dedicated his life to the revolution.....
Son-in-law Du Lian sat beside him, and Xiao Hua said in a weak voice:
"Du chain, you have to work hard .......",
Du Lian understood his father-in-law's mood and expectations, and said that he would definitely do a good job according to his requirements.
Xiao Hua looked at his son-in-law with satisfaction, and instructed with difficulty:
"I couldn't attend the September meeting. ”
Xiao Hua felt very sorry that he could not participate in the Fifth Plenary Session of the 12th Central Committee, and felt powerless, and after taking a breath, Xiao Hua said with some excitement:
"The general secretary's family came to see me, thanked the Party Central Committee for its care for me, and told the Party Central Committee and Comrade Yaobang and Ziyang that for so many years, it was the party that raised me, I was seriously ill, and the only regret was that I had done too little for the party and the people, too little......."
Xiao Hua said and said, his tears welled up, his expression was very sad, Du Lian, who knew his father-in-law, was very sad to see Xiao Hua so sad, his father-in-law joined the regiment at the age of 12, became the secretary of the Youth League County Party Committee at the age of 14 and participated in the Red Army, and became the political commissar of the International Division of the Young Communist Party at the age of 17.
Xiao Hua stabilized his mood and said:
"No matter how many difficulties, our reform will definitely succeed, communism will definitely win, and we will resolutely support the institutional reform of the 12th National Congress, these words are very important and important......
After Xiao Hua was hospitalized, his wife Wang Xinlan stayed by his side every day to take care of his daily life.
"You don't have to worry about me, I don't care, when I get better, let's find a quiet place to live, the main thing is to summarize our lives well, write a memoir, and clean up the rights and wrongs of the general government. ”
After Wang Xinlan heard this, she choked up and said:
"Okay, you're well, let's go back to our hometown Jiangxi together and go to the Northeast ....... together"
Xiao Hua knew that time was short, he wanted to do something within his power in a limited time, the secretary remembered that he wanted to write a memoir, so he mentioned it to Xiao Hua, Xiao Hua waved his hand again and again after hearing it: "Don't talk about it now", he continued: "My life experience is very simple, I can write it in a few sentences. ”
At eight o'clock in the evening of August 11, Xiao Hua woke up from the coma again, and once again signaled to Du Lian's bedside, endured the pain, and said with great difficulty:

At seven o'clock in the morning on August 12, Xiao Hua opened his eyes again, wanting to see the relatives and medical staff around him, but regrettably, he insisted until 8:15 a.m., and his heart stopped beating and he finished his 59-year life of ups and downs.
After Xiao Hua's death, the staff recalled with tears in their eyes that even though the old general's seriously ill hospitalized family and medical staff did not disclose his true condition, he had a premonition of his illness and life, and he said to the staff around him many times:
"During the war years, I often thought that it would be good if I lived to be thirty or forty years old, but I didn't expect to live to this day, so I felt that even if I couldn't do it now, there was nothing to regret, but I still had a lot of things to do.......
The secretary held back tears and comforted:
"Chief, you can recuperate in peace, the doctor will say yes",
