In the past few days, the topic of everyone's group chat has shifted to Z 28-400mm F4-8, while complaining that the price of more than 10,000 yuan is very expensive, and on the other hand, he said that the volume is very fragrant.

I haven't gotten the Z 28-400mm F4-8 mirror yet, I'm looking for it everywhere. I generally don't read the reviews of domestic media on the Internet, and the focus of the controversy on the forum about this lens is focused on: Is the focus pulled on the hips? The aperture is too small, will it strike as soon as it gets dark? Compared with the 24mm in the 24-200mm, will the 28mm not be enough?
Let me start with some of my points:
1. Whether it is 24-200 or 28-400, the size advantage is indeed too great. The former weighs 570g, the latter weighs 725g, the Nikon family big ternary 70-200 weighs 1440g, 24-70 costs 805g, and 70-180 also costs 795g. In terms of body length, the 28-400 is 141.5mm, the 24-200 is 114mm, the 70-200 is 220mm, the 24-70 is 126mm, and the 70-180 is 151mm.
2. Will the F8 not be enough at the telephoto end? Definitely not enough, but this is not a lens positioned to allow you to take pictures in low light. Judging from the various promotional materials provided by Nikon, this lens is sold to users who have money and time to check in the great rivers of the motherland. If you want to buy amateur users who play birds, shoot concerts, or shoot sports events, don't buy this lens, and use it occasionally, it's better to rent one. This head, my positioning is the tourist scenery. There is a reporter around me who runs the news and is also ready to buy this head, the reason is very simple, one camera and one camera, easy, and it is OK to shoot clearly. By the way, after 190mm, the maximum aperture is already F8.
3. Will 28mm not be enough? It is definitely not enough, so I would like to think that some people, especially if you shoot more in the city, I recommend 24-200mm.
4. Isn't the 28-400 quality very stretchy? In one way, or rather, I don't think it's much different from the 24-200. After watching a lot of samples without post-production, after the 200mm end, the edge image quality is not good, and the color of the photo is a bit dull. The picture quality of the 24-120 is definitely much better than them.
5. Regarding focusing, it's quiet and smooth, but not particularly fast.
6. The price will definitely drop to 9xxx in the later stage.
There is a lot of discussion about this lens on the Internet, to be honest, but those who participate in the discussion are basically not potential user groups of this lens (if the price can be reduced to 7xxx, it is estimated that many people will say incense). But if you want to go out with two lenses, who will buy 28-400? Even 24-200 is not even worth it. From the day of its birth, Tianya Mirror has sacrificed image quality, focus length and weight. It's just that today's Tianya Mirror is much stronger in overall performance than in the past.
