The AW24 "HUGS" womenswear collection show is NIAPARKA's first appearance on the stage of Shanghai Fashion Week, which is not only a fashion show, but also an expression of cultural values. Capturing those healing moments inspired by art and connecting this relaxation with fashion, the brand is a safe haven for busy urbanites, allowing French relaxation to stir up inner ripples. NIAPARKA's Fall/Winter 2024 womenswear collection is inspired by the public art project "Sending a Hug to the World" curated by ceramist Patrick Johnston. Johnston invites people to communicate through hugs and to merge with the pottery embryo to convey a healing philosophy that transcends words. In the gap of time, a moment of contact is frozen as an eternal memory, and the warmth under the skin permeates each other and becomes a silent consolation for each other's souls.
Continuing last season's core inspiration of "pottery", NIAPARKA resonates with the soul of Patrick Johnston to capture the humanistic temperature and irregular beauty of his works, thus creating the Fall/Winter 2024 womenswear collection named "HUGS". Silent emotion is transformed into flowing lines and comfortable silhouettes, and each piece is a profound interpretation and tender expression of love. NIAPARKA wants to make the wearer feel the philosophy of healing in every piece of clothing.
The show was transformed into a temporary theatre in a reimagined space where installation, dance, music and catwalk are intertwined to weave a multi-dimensional narrative space. Every detail becomes a bridge of perceptual resonance, and a short drama of the mind called "Hug" is staged. The show not only presented the charm of NIAPARKA fashion, but also continued the comfort of Johnston's love, conveying the warmth and inner symphony flowing under the skin to every viewer.
The circular installation in the center of the show is a stage for dancers to perform, inspired by the potter's drawing of the pottery wheel, which is a reproduction of the process of creating pottery. The installation seems to be free from the shackles of gravity, suspended on the surface of the earth and rotating in the air, turning into a bridge between the art of pottery and the spirit of fashion, a creative and philosophical interpretation of the theme of "embracing".
In this space, defined by a rotating disc, dancers Anneliese Charles and Kokuh Suk use their bodies as brushes to create a gently reshaped image of a clay embryo in the air. The dancers constantly adjust their limbs and respond to each other, the invisible narrative unfolds, and the moment the limbs meet, it is the touch of the heart, the silent comfort, and finally the embrace of love is transformed into a concrete expression.
"Hug" has become a vein connecting fashion, the show and the audience, and the final chapter comes, and the holy chorus selected from "Song of Solomon" pushes emotions to healing and purification, and finally reaches the realm of relief, so that all the audience on the scene can truly perceive the healing energy brought by the show.
In the fashion world of NIAPARKA, we have always practiced the fashion standard of "designing fashion for everyday wear", emphasizing "wearable" and "texture". The Fall/Winter 2024 collection continues this principle. After the clay embryo is embraced, the shape is reshaped, and the special-shaped arc and irregular depression are condensed into the multiple structures and exquisite details of the fashion. The loose and simple silhouette lightly traces the curves of the female body, languid and at the same time restrained.
Inspired by Patric Johnston's work, this season's colors are introverted and subtle in bronze brown, earth brown and cardamom green glaze, which is a concrete expression of the brand's restrained inward aesthetic, gently showing the concentration and healing undertones of love like an embrace.
The use of natural materials such as cashmere, yak cashmere, and twill stained cloth creates a modern comfort zone for self-discovery in a natural tone. The multifaceted collision of leather and different materials gives the collection a new and discordant beauty under contrasts and conflicts.
NIAPARKA is also always concerned about the future and development of sustainable fashion. This season's shirts, slacks, down jackets and other items continue to use eco-friendly protein leather fabrics, and the elastic and soft skin-friendly feeling gives the skin a breathing sensation, so that the tense body under high pressure can be relieved, and it can also take care of the inner peace. In addition, NIAPARKA also innovatively transforms "straw", an agricultural waste, into eco-friendly sweaters through a special process, conveying a unique eco-friendly design concept.
