On the morning of April 25, the procuratorial open day with the theme of "Rule of Law Guarding Half the Sky and Working Together to Make Contributions to the New Era" jointly sponsored by the Leshan Municipal Procuratorate and the Municipal Women's Federation, and undertaken by the Shawan District Procuratorate and the District Women's Federation, was held in the Shawan District Cultural and Creative Park. Procuratorates at the city and county levels, women's federations, as well as deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, people's supervisors, experts and professors, gathered together to offer advice and wisdom to strengthen the protection of women's rights and interests. Li Pengfei, Secretary of the Party Group and Procurator General of the Municipal Procuratorate, and Han Tao, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Municipal Women's Federation, attended the event and delivered speeches. Yang Kun, member of the party group and deputy procurator general of the Municipal Procuratorate, presided over the meeting.
During the event, the participants watched the promotional video of the "Rape and Murder Case of a Homeless Woman in Leshan, Sichuan" handled by the Leshan Municipal Procuratorate in 2023, and listened to the excellent case of national administrative procuratorial supervision reported by the Shawan District Procuratorate - "Wang v. Leshan Shawan District Civil Affairs Bureau to Revoke the Procuratorial Supervision of Fraudulent Marriage Registration", and the participants of the grassroots procuratorate and the Women's Federation had a full exchange in combination with the actual work. At the meeting, the Municipal Procuratorate and the Municipal Women's Federation signed a coordination mechanism for the protection of the rights and interests of women and children in the city, and held the unveiling ceremony of the work brand of "Checking Love and Traveling, Dating with Jiaren", further deepening and expanding the comprehensive cooperation between the procuratorate and the Women's Federation, and gathering the joint force of the city's women and children protection.
At the symposium, Zhao Yong, deputy dean and associate professor of the School of Law and Public Administration of Leshan Normal University, commented on the procuratorial contributions made by the Leshan Municipal Procuratorate in highlighting precise supervision and special protection, strengthening the procuratorial work of civil, administrative and public interest litigation related to women's rights and interests, and effectively protecting the development and legitimate rights and interests of women. Yang Xinping, deputy to the National People's Congress, Song Xiaobing, deputy to the Provincial People's Congress, Wang Min, member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Zeng Wenqiang, municipal people's supervisor, put forward opinions and suggestions on further strengthening the protection of the rights and interests of women and children.
Through participating in today's activities, I intuitively feel that the procuratorial organs have done a lot of solid and meticulous work in protecting the rights and interests of women and children, punishing crimes that infringe on women's rights and interests, and safeguarding women's legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law. I would like to take this opportunity to put forward two suggestions: First, establish a "one-stop" rights protection support system for labor dispute cases of female employees, including departmental transfer, procuratorial support, and social assistance. The second is to increase the force of "using cases to explain the law" in the protection of women's rights and interests.
As a representative of the Provincial People's Congress who performed his duties in Shawan, I am very honored to be able to participate in this procuratorial open day and feel the dignity and authority of the law up close. I am a member of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from an enterprise, and today I deeply feel the rule of law and responsibility of the procuratorial organs. The protection of women's rights and interests is related to the happiness and tranquility of all families, and it is suggested that: First, the procuratorial organs should combine the current special action of "procuratorial protection of enterprises" to give more legal protection to women entrepreneurs in Leshan and create a good business environment under the rule of law. The second is to continue to deepen the creation of the work brand of "Checking Love and Walking, Jia Ren Appointment", and make our local brand bigger and stronger through a "package" of pragmatic measures.
As a people's supervisor and a lawyer, I deeply feel the positive actions of the procuratorial organs in safeguarding the rights and interests of women and children. It is recommended that procuratorial organs strengthen publicity on typical cases, and further enhance the joint force for the protection of women and children through the use of cases to explain the law.
Han Tao, secretary of the party group and chairman of the Municipal Women's Federation, said that the cause of women and children is an important part of the cause of the party and the country, and the protection of rights has always been an important political responsibility of the women's federation. The Municipal Women's Federation will deepen cooperation with the Municipal Procuratorate, focus on long-term permanent governance, unite work forces, seek common work, jointly build mechanisms, do practical things together, and make joint efforts, adhere to the problem orientation, carry out women's heart-warming actions, deepen special activities to protect women's rights and interests, and do the rights protection work in ordinary times and at the grassroots level. Focusing on the Heart-to-Heart Rights Protection Service Center, we will continue to promote the construction of a working mechanism for rights protection services, strengthen cooperation and linkage with judicial organs in an all-round way, promote the resolution of outstanding problems affecting and infringing on the rights and interests of women and children, gather resources from all parties, and strive to build a socialized and professional pattern of protecting the rights of women and children, so that respect for women and care for children can form a good trend in the whole society, and contribute to the efforts to write a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Leshan.
Li Pengfei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Procurator General of the Municipal Procuratorate, stressed that protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women is a systematic project and a long-term task, which requires the city's procuratorial organs, women's federations and other organizations to cooperate with various functional departments to share the mission and cohesion. Everyone should earnestly improve their political position, fully understand the importance of doing a good job in the protection of women's rights and interests in the new era, persist in focusing on politics and the rule of law, fully implement the newly revised Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests, the Anti-Domestic Violence Law and other laws and regulations, and provide a safer, more equal, and more inclusive social environment for women groups under the framework of good law and good governance. It is necessary to actively perform procuratorial functions, contribute to the rule of law to preserve women's rights and interests, handle every case involving women's rights and interests with high quality and efficiency, clear channels for women's demands to express and defend their rights, focusing on social governance issues such as employment discrimination, personality derogation, job security, and marriage and family, and using procuratorial recommendations to promote joint management by functional departments, and strive to resolve prominent problems that affect and infringe on women's rights and interests. It is necessary to comprehensively strengthen coordination and cooperation, gather a strong joint force for the protection of women's rights and interests, give full play to the advantages of the procuratorial organs' specialized case handling and the socialized protection of women's federation organizations, and jointly promote the protection of women's rights and interests in Leshan to a new level.
