From 1985 to 1988, there were many long-term water cuts in Baiyun Obo, which greatly affected the production and livelihood of residents. At this moment, the nearby herdsmen once again extended a helping hand, and used their own sweet and cold water to continuously support and nourish the thirsty land in the mining area, staging a touching story of national unity and family relations.

In 1987, Baotou Iron and Steel organized a special meeting and decided to use the black brain bag as a supplementary water source for Baiyun Obo. In November 1988, the water source of the black brain package was completed, and in February of the following year, the water supply was officially supplied to Baiyun Obo.

Time passed to the 90s of the 20th century. The production of Baiyun Obo iron ore is booming, and the population of Baiyun Obo is growing rapidly. Although there are two water sources, the gap in water supply is getting bigger and bigger, and it is common for residents to lose water. The search for a third source of water has once again become a top priority for Baiyun Obo.

As early as the 70s of the last century, when the geological exploration department surveyed in the territory of Damaoqi, it was found that there was a large water source near the Taling Palace.

Water is the lifeblood of the steppe people. However, under the coordination and consultation of the relevant state departments, the leaders of the autonomous region and the leaders of Baotou Iron and Steel, the people of the grassland once again generously helped and donated this incomparably precious water source. On July 20, 1993, the water source of Taling Palace was officially completed and opened to water, and the clear spring water rushed from the vast grassland all the way to Baiyun Obo for 60 kilometers, like rain and dew, like sweet rain, so that the hot land of Baiyun Obo glows with greater vitality and vitality.

At this point, Baiyun Obo has three water sources, and the history of water shortage seems to be over forever.

However, the reality is that at that time, Baiyun Obo was in a period of great development and construction, with buildings springing up and ore mining in the western part of the mining area in full swing. As a result, Baiyun Obo is still short of water.

In this context, the grand idea of "bringing yellow to white" was officially put on the agenda. Running up and down to set up projects, domestic and foreign inspections...... After more than three years of hard work, in April 2007, the project was officially started.

On October 18, 2009, the surging mother river, with its own broad maternal love and selfless dedication, and at the same time carrying the silent greetings and strong support of the fathers and villagers of all ethnic groups along the way, passed through about 11 kilometers of urban areas, about 18 kilometers of mountains and tunnels, about 9 kilometers of farmland, about 4 kilometers of riverbed, about 102 kilometers of hills and flatlands, and also crossed railways twice, 6 tunnels, The highway has been 7 times, all the way to Baiyun Obo for more than 145 kilometers, flowing into Baoshan, integrating into ore, converging into a strong resource flow to support national construction, and also converging into a great concerto of the times, majestic and majestic. The implementation of the project is regarded as a historic breakthrough in the history of the development of mineral resources in Baiyun Obo, and the relevant media said that "its status and significance are no less than that of the railway to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau".
