As the youngest comprehensive land port between Guangdong and Hong Kong, Liantang Port has attracted many people to enter and exit the country since its opening of travel inspection on February 6, 2023, with its superior geographical location, convenient customs clearance environment and low transportation costs, and has become one of the first choices for many passengers.
With the introduction of a number of visa optimization measures for foreigners to China, the mainland has implemented a visa-free policy for some countries on a trial basis, providing more convenience for foreigners to come to China. There has also been a significant increase in the number of foreign arrivals passing through the Liantang Port, which hit a new high during the recent spring Canton Fair.
It is expected that with the implementation of the latest transit visa-free policy, more foreigners will choose to clear customs through Liantang Port. The Liantang Border Inspection Station has been deployed in advance, and will continue to optimize customs clearance measures to facilitate the entry and exit of the majority of people, and serve to promote the integration and accelerated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
According to the 144-hour transit visa-free policy of Guangdong Province, foreigners from 54 countries holding valid international travel documents and 144-hour confirmed date and seat to a third country (region) connecting ticket (including air tickets, ferry tickets and train tickets) can choose to enter from any of the ports of Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport Airport and exit, and exit from any of the 36 ports in Guangdong Province approved by the State Council, and the transit visa-free stay area is Guangdong Province.
