According to the document, the industrialization project of Tyco Tianrun 6-inch silicon carbide power electronic devices (phase I project) has completed the independent acceptance work on June 15, 2023, and the second phase of the expansion project will now be carried out in the factory building of the new energy auto parts industrial park of Liuyang High-tech Zone of Tyco Tianrun.

Specifically, Tyco Tianrun will extend the special production line for two-layer silicon carbide power devices in the existing plant to the first floor, and add production equipment and packaging and testing process production lines to increase production. The expansion project will increase the investment of 100 million yuan, from the original annual output of 60,000 pieces of 6-inch silicon carbide power devices to 100,000 pieces per year.

Vishay:

Procurement of Aixtron SiC equipment in preparation for production expansion

About a week ago, Aixtron announced that its SiC equipment was purchased by Wolfspeed, and yesterday (23rd), Aixtron announced that it had won an order from another SiC customer - according to Aixtron's official website, its G10-SiC epitaxial production platform will be delivered in batches to Vishay NWF automotive wafer fab to help expand the factory's production capacity.

According to reports, in November 2023, Vishay reached an agreement with Nexperia to acquire Nexperia's wafer manufacturing plant in Newport, South Wales, UK for US$177 million (about 1.288 billion yuan) in cash, and transform it into an 8-inch silicon carbide and gallium nitride technology development site.

According to the NWF official website, the factory has a monthly production capacity of 32,000 8-inch wafers, with a maximum monthly production capacity of 44,000 pieces, mainly producing automotive-grade MOSFET and IGBT chips. Following the acquisition, Vishay plans to use the facility to accelerate its large-scale manufacturing plans and advance technology differentiation for SiC MOSFETs.

In early March, the acquisition process for the plant was finalized, so Vishay put equipment on the agenda in preparation for the expansion.
