The two distinctive folk activities "flowers" bloomed side by side, which are the highlights of this year's "May Day" cultural tourism activities in Xuhui District.
From April 29th to May 5th, the 2024 Shanghai Longhua Temple Fair will be held in Longhua Square and the surrounding area. The formation of the Longhua temple fair can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties, making it one of the most prestigious temple fairs in East China. In 2008, Shanghai Longhua Temple was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
With the theme of "Wonderful Meeting, Chunze Longyao", this year's event will innovate and improve on the basis of cultural inheritance, and show the traditional characteristics and contemporary influence of the urban Shanghai-style temple fair with the in-depth collision of "temple fair" and "wonderful meeting", and create a new business card for the intangible cultural heritage event.
For the first time, the temple fair will be presented on the shore of Longhua Port of "Longhua Eighteen Bays, Wanwan See Longhua"; for the first time, the commercial complex in Longhua area will be fully opened, and the Longhua Hui business district will be linked to create Longhua Hui Miao Street and Food Street, so as to fully stimulate regional vitality; for the first time, the night market version of the temple fair will be realized, and the new growth pole of night consumption will be cultivated with the festival of the city; the Yangtze River Delta and domestic high-quality intangible cultural heritage skills will be invited to appear for the first time; and the dual-venue linkage of the temple fair + international coffee festival will be realized for the first time...... There is also a digital temple fair project of "Wonderful Picture Shenghua AI Project", which brings tourists a new experience of intangible cultural heritage.
The series of cultural and tourism exchange month activities of "Hui Ai Sakya Spring Xu Jia Meeting" throughout May will also kick off during the "May Day" period.
At that time, the famous "Internet celebrity" block Yongkang Road will be transformed into a Tibetan cultural characteristic street, Gesang flowers decorate the entire street, Tibetan cultural incense cloth wafting in front of the window of the old Shikumen house, nearly 20 merchants will launch Tibetan cultural special meals, coffee and cultural and creative products and services, citizens and tourists can experience the strong Tibetan cultural atmosphere without leaving "Shanghai".
The Tibetan culture float outside Xujiahui Academy and the Tibetan culture-themed exhibition at Lane 275 of Anfu Road are also waiting for you to take home! The "May Day" holiday is full of fragrance. The Shanghai (International) Flower Show and the West Bund International Coffee Life Festival, which are loved by citizens and tourists, collide passionately, and the romance index is off the charts.
The 2024 Shanghai (International) Flower Show, which will be held from April 18th to May 22nd, will be held for the first time in the main venue, expanding from the Shanghai Botanical Garden to the Xuhui Riverside and Lingang New Area. With a total area of about 15.8 hectares, the Xuhui Riverside Main Venue, located in the public space of the West Bank waterfront, has specially set up exhibition areas such as the International Garden, the Yangtze River Delta Garden, and the Xinyou Botanical Garden. There are also interactive contents such as flower art classes, flower markets, and street performers' performances, so that citizens and tourists can have more fun.
Accompanied by the romantic fragrance of flowers, the 2024 Shanghai International Coffee Culture Festival and the 2nd West Bund International Coffee Life Festival will be held from April 30 to May 4 at the Xuhui Riverside Open Space.
This year's West Bund International Coffee Life Festival will be the main venue of the city's coffee culture activities, creating the city's largest "coffee + cultural, sports, tourism and business exhibition" carnival, with more than 180 booths and more than 100 popular coffee brands, integrating coffee, flower show, cultural tourism, sports, performances, e-sports, commercial brands and other multi-faceted elements, launching cross-border content such as coffee markets, time-honored brand displays, sports events, and performing arts performances, inviting tourists to "look up at the flowers, sit down and drink coffee", and enjoy the new experience of cultural tourism accompanied by the spring water of the river.
