Recently, hotels in many places in China have begun to cancel the "mandatory face brushing" one after another
Recently, the Shanghai Hotel Industry Public Security Management Information System has issued notices and reminders, which strictly prohibit the "compulsory face brushing" verification of passengers who have presented their valid identity documents, and it is strictly forbidden to have the problem of not being able to check in without "brushing their faces".
Article 23 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, promulgated on March 15 this year and to be officially implemented on July 1, stipulates that when providing goods or services, business operators shall not excessively collect consumers' personal information, and shall not use methods such as one-time general authorization or tacit authorization to compel or indirectly compel consumers to consent to the collection and use of personal information that is not directly related to business activities.
On the afternoon of the 19th, the reporter called more than ten hotels in various districts of Shanghai, and the front desk said that there is no "mandatory face brushing" requirement at present. Some hotels said they no longer had "forced face brushing" since last year.
In the case of travelers bringing their national IDs, each hotel says that they can check in directly. If you don't have an ID card, you can also check in with your electronic ID card, ID photo, driver's license, social security card, etc.
In addition to Shanghai, this policy has begun to be adjusted in many places in China. A number of hotels in Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and other places have confirmed this to reporters.
